groze: Hmm... kind of an odd choice to reboot, Black Mirror is not that well-known a franchise. I like the original games, the first one is very good, the others are fine, good point & click adventures. I can't tell by the announcement trailer if they plan on keeping the game in the same genre, let's hope so... these days, everyone tries to pull a TellTale with their games, I don't particularly dislike the interactive novel format of their games, but I'm starting to get a bit annoyed at how every studio has at least one title like that in their published catalog. Still, it's too soon to judge, and that announcement trailer gives no hints about almost anything. Could be a good game, if made with dedication and care, let's hope THQ Nordic really cherishes this franchise and comes out with a great title.
Just to clarify: we're talking about an actual *reboot*, here, not just a remake, right?
Here's what they say on the website, if it helps clarify things:
Like in the original graphic adventure trilogy, the Gothic Horror genre and its unique atmosphere of madness and psychological distress remains at the heart of Black Mirror.
The point-and-click gameplay of the original trilogy served as the basis for the re-imagined gameplay, which focuses on close-up investigation and interaction with nightmarish visions that plague the protagonist of the game David Gordon.
