Not much of a loss as it was very basic and got repetitive fast (and some classes had a much harder time going through then others)

With Armax Arsenal Arena in ME3 Citadel DLC there really isn't a point to Pinnacle anyway as it is done right and with more rewards. Ask EA.

Wow, that's quite amazing. I mean, what game developer isn't going to keep backups of their source?! Erm ... because, to use a Star Trek analogy, Bioware got caught and assimilated by the Borg. There is no Bioware any more, just EA wearing a dead Bioware's skin like a creepy suit.

Media companies, be it film, audio, or gaming, have a habit of just abandoning the source or gold master of their works. Many older Doctor Who episodes were lost on account of this. Nearly happened to Thief and System Shock 2 as well, but the source was discovered in a auction long after Looking Glass was shuttered.

Gotta wonder why companies hoover up IP, if they are just going to let it rot away.

It was by a small third party developer (Demiurge Studios) as contract job. I assume they just didn't care. its not just media company's, NASA lost all the original high quality footage, photo negatives of the moon landings, blue prints of space craft and some moon rocks because they couldn't be bothered to archive them properly.

EA/Bioware reached out to Demiurge Studios when they were looking to add Pinnacle to Legendary Edition. They got sent a copy of the original source code, but they said it was heavily corrupt and a lot of the triggers and stuff was broken so they couldn't use it.

I'm disappointed that it doesn't have Pinnacle station, and seeing as I own the originals and DLCs I can wait for a better sale, as aside from a few balance changes, hud changes and lighting changes most of what they have done with Legendary can be done with mods.

And also seeing as on Steam it needs Origin at the moment (according to the store page) don't expect it to come to GOG any time soon.

Yeah, it's crazy stuff ... those astronauts took the trouble of going all the way to the moon just for the guys in the office go and lose the videos. I'd be pissed!

I will always like mass effect 1, Amazing game, great story dlc was fine addition and I wish it came here but EA will be EA and keep all the toys to themselves in there shit playground..

IIRC, IceWind Dale 2's source code is also missing, which is why we ain't had IWD2: Enhanced.

I know it was probably wishful thinking, but I had hope that this remaster collection would have finally brought all three games to GOG. I know they've always been highly requested, so I thought there could have been at least a small chance. Oh well, I'd have bought the Legendary Edition if it would have released here, but I won't buy it on Steam or Origin. It's their loss.

It's EA, so....chances of that are slim. Most of their recent stuff's on Origin and Steam.

If the ME Trilogy: Remastered is coming to GOG, it's probably going to be years down the line, when they want/need to make more sales on that SKU.
