"... Iwiński and co-CEO Adam Kiciński are each slated to receive a bonus of 24 million zloty, or $6.3 million, according to the company’s annual report. Adam Badowski, a board member and the director of Cyberpunk 2077, will take home $4.2 million. ..."

well, sadly i'm kinda missing these info in gogs numbers and facts thread. seems like beeing a scammy, spineless je#k, f#cking up customers, lying and treating employees like sh#t (remember all the crunchtime?) is worth a huge reward. i love cdprojects policy on bonuses!

next time your gog offline installer of a purchased game doesn't work properly, needs a fix or is lacking an update! just remember gog didn't have the money to pay someone to solve that, cause that money was spend on bonuses!

btw: i didn't purchase anything on gog for about 4 years already and still not regreting it, you should try it too.

While I approve of this post, I don't understand why you still post here.

But yes, shit heads responsible for abusing workers and lying to customers should not be getting huge fucking bonuses for it. Fuck Marcin Iwinski and Adam Badowski for all that.

I agree with this but there is a little problem, CD Projekt Red and GOG belong to CD Projekt but they distribute the revenue of CD Projekt Red among the board memebers.
Now to the point, Iwinski and Kicinski are a real assholes, they are the ones responsable for the release state of Cyberpunk 2077, the only good and honorable think they can do is renounce to they share and distribute it among the developer that worked and still are working in the game.

i "sort of" agree. the problem is the game sold well anyway, and refunds of the console versions seem to be surprisingly low. which means their bonus might actually be justified from a bottom-line POV.

So where are you buying now? Also did your intense anger against GOG start because the games you were buying weren't working right away/straight out-of-the box, or what was the reason(s)?

Why should it suprise you, it is the most common thing for the worst to succeed. Just looking at the rankings, notables are EA (of which CDPR aspire) and blizzard:
https://www.metacritic.com/feature/2021-game-publisher-rankings-summary-table

And 2020, with again, blizzard, EA and Paradox (must have considered each DLc separately):

EA was third in 2019:

Just shows such practices as getting kids addicted to gambling is totally acceptable.

That's the thing though, despite the mess it was at launch, CP was a huge financial success. Goes to show you how powerful modern marketting is.

How is that surprising? Cyberpunk still made a ton of money. Sure, they got a lot of bad PR for a couple months, but people have very short memory. The decision to release CP as they did is probably already considered vindicated. You want to blame someone, blame the people who preorder games, and who will surely pre-order their next game just as if this launch never happened.

Ah yes, Jason Schreier. The quintessential overly political "Game Journalist (tm)" former employee of "Gamers Are Dead" Kotaku site who declared 14m sales a "flop" and almost giggled with excitement at the expectation that Cyberpunk will be "saturated in trans-phobia" that turned out to be a whole lot of nothing... He also deleted a tweet that falsely accused CDPR staff of "only speaking Polish" during meetings with English speaking staff whilst working at Bloomberg.

I don't know what bonus would be appropriate for CDPR managers after Cyberpunk's rocky launch. But if you want honest news about the video game industry, avoid "Game Journalists" (tm) like the plague...
If they're wise they'll store that money into their savings account, the future of CDPR looks bleak af (or maybe that's not true and people will continue to preorder games, get overhyped over teaser trailers, believe what they're told rather than what they're shown, and not give a fuck about crunch and shitty working conditions :D).

True.
GOOD NEWS!™ Marcin will make $6.3 million, which means he can finally afford getting a haircut so he won't have to walk around looking like a dishevelled homeless person any more.
