I think it is also related to nudity of models. Please compare sorceress and assasins models on character selection screens of remastered and original versions.

Regarding Starcraft, yes but apart from the remastered version, there is still offline installer that can be downloaded from Blizzard ftp server, containing older version of a Star craft Gold, that works offline, is DRM free and only requires valid serial.

I hear you there, it was a pet peeve of mine too since inventory space was so limited to begin with. I loved the game and on Bnet it was fair game for everyone to struggle thru, but at least you had the ability to trade there.

But in SP, I just didn't like the idea of endless Diablo or Baal runs to score that one rune or item. It's not like I’d be able to use it in a Game+ mode or pvp in the SP version lol. Maybe if we had mods like the Neverwinter community has, then it'd make sense for multiple tries to find that BIS item.

It's a joke alright, all the other things aside i thought blizzard said the game will "only" be a one time authentication for playing the game at one point so is this now changed ? because always online drm for a remaster of a 21 year old game is a joke multiplayer, ladders or not.

Activision Blizzard isn't even trying.

After seeing how they did the WC remaster of their other game, and them firing nearly all their team for record profits, i have no faith in Blizzard putting anything out. I'd love to be surprised and see good products; but they are a shell of what they used to be.

Thanks, why ever expecting something positive to come out from them. This is also reminds me that it's time to copy Legacy D2 and LOD to an external drive for storing since Blizzard can pull anything out at any one time it feels like.

There is also a widescreen mod available to legacy D2 so i assume it's safe to say the legacy version will remain superior.

You can call me unfaithful guys, because I decided to pre-order Diablo 2 Resurrected. :) Yep, I like what I've seen during the tests and made a decision to buy the game even before it's released. Internet authorization is a downside, I admit it, but I use a computer which is constantly connected to the web, so it's not a huge thing for me (it may be a problem when the game servers are shut down sometime in the future though). Too bad we won't see D2 released on GOG, because it would be an instabuy for me even if it would be a version from the 2000. The old D2 still has its unique style, which I like very much. The new version will have an interesting option to switch between the original and Resurrected on the fly, so you can easily compare the two. :)

What would be the essential patches and mods? I have the game in cd format but I haven´t played it in ages. I have search the in the duckduckgo that there is a 1.14b patch. Is that the last one? Does it work fine? Is it the one to be used just after installing the game?

While Legacy Diablo 2 + LoD releasing on GoG is right now even more unlikely than it was before I wouldn't rule it out completely.
As I speculated in one of the other threads - Blizzard might not want to support Legacy Diablo 2 + LoD forever, especially since every copy of Resurrected comes with a built-in copy of Legacy anyway.
So there might come a time where Blizzard opts to sell Legacy through GoG (and why wouldn't you when the first Diablo obviously sold exceptionally well) instead of further hosting, maintaining and supporting what essentially amounts to a redundancy.
