I'm pretty selective about the games I enjoy, and the game probably only appeals to a select number of people...but if you enjoyed games like Master of Orion 2, Space Rangers 2, Space pirates and zombies, Nexus the Jupiter Incident, you probably will enjoy this :)

I played Master of Orion 2 very briefly, only. I borrowed it from a friend. I found all that micro management to be a bit of a let down. Maybe if I read the manual and played it for longer I would have had kept a different opinion of it. But I really love the first one. I will replay the second one when I find the time to really learn it. The first one I really love! And it also seems to play faster.
Star Control 1 and 2 are also very good.
Space Rangers HD is wishlisted. SPAZ and Nexus are awaiting some spare time, and I'm itching to play them.

But the important is that you mentioned many of the things I love and, in other games, made me consider what it could have been. Frontier: Elite 2, Homeworld and others. I can really melt entire days playing good space strategy game.

Since I like your taste in games, feel free to suggest other nice things for me to play.

I check in on this pretty regularly and usually it's just an update with some pics for Screenshot Saturday but now the press crap is all out!!! Aaaahh!

I'm super excited for this game because Rebel Galaxy nailed so much about space trading games and it did it without being a game that wasted your time. You look at Elite: Dangerous. It's a fucking grind simulator. I finished playing Rebel Galaxy in 66 hours (not intentional) and when I did the last mission I was satisfied and didn't feel like anything was unfinished. I don't pre-order anything, and when I recently broke that rule I got reminded why I don't pre-order anything, but this is the one thing that I'd actually want to.

They have this thing set up apparently where you can order a 3D-printed model of your customized ship from them. How fucking cool is that shit?

Sending the the good juju this thing's way because I really hope it hits all the marks it wants to. In a time when all the space best games are either early-access vaporeware, time sinks, GAAS mmo horseshittery, or all of the above, Rebel Galaxy was a nice good solid game.

I haven't yet played House of the Dying Sun. The Rogue-like aspect throws me off but it looks really good.

Looks like it could be very cool...I loved the AOW games, and yes, even 3....a lot. I am really hoping this one isn't just going to be a "skinned" over AOW3, and from what I have seen so far, it appears there will be enough different elements that will distinguish itself as it's own game. At least I am hoping so. Really looking forward to seeing what the final product will be, as I am a sucker for good space strategy games. Speaking of which, Stellaris presently has really sucked me into it's event horizon, from which I see no escape anytime soon....
