GekoFreako: Awesome! I'm so glad to see these games here as I have been hoping for X-Wing and Tie Fighter to show up here on GOG. I wonder if there will be a possibility of making the Lucasarts games that are currently only for Windows available for Mac or is that something that only developers can do?
You can use Wineskin for the newer Windows versions and Boxer for the older DOS versions. But I'm hoping too that GOG offers someday MAC versions that work out of the box. ;)
I've never played Rogue squadron. Is it better than the x-wing series?

trusteft: Is 20 titles all we are going to get from Lucas/Disney? There

ShadowWulfe: Probably just a trial for GOG. If the experiment goes well, more will come, if not, then no.

I suspect we will be getting more. =)
I hope so. I hope the are selling well.

Thanks.
I still have all these in my library, but i am still quite giddy. soon i can get around 16 bit installers with ease.

kirghylommax: Maybe not as hassle free as you planned, GOG. I still had to download a 3rd party application to get TIE Fighter (1998) to run in Windows 7 64-bit.

trusteft: Care to explain?
Sure. I installed the X-Wing and TIE Fighter games on my Windows 7 64-bit PC last night. Both versions of XW and the DOS version of TIE worked flawlessly. However, the 1998 version of TIE crashed back to the desktop every time I launched it. I tried changing the compatibility settings, but to no avail. I ended up downloading an unofficial compatibility app before it would work. After that, it appears to perform as normal.

I would say no, but really it is comparing apples to oranges. Rogue Squadron is a series of arcade-style games, with a small arena, forced movement, and short levels. The X-Wing series games are space simulation-style games, where you have complete control over your space craft (lasers, shields, targeting computer) and where strategy is often more important than reaction time.

Nesoo: I see that the lawyers for GOG©™ and Disney©™®¼¤†¡¶þ are earning their pay ;-)
It is somewhat irritating to see all those copyright notices and legal mumbo-jumbo in a GOG post, isn't it? :P

I guess when dealing with giants such as Disney, and franchises such as Star Wars or Indiana Jones, it can't be avoided. The lawyers are always watching!

( Oh, and I forgot to add in the ©s and ™s up there. Or, did I... ? :P )

Care to give a link in cases I need it?
I can't stop clicking on "and more to come". :-(

Might help, and it might not. Others have tried it without success, but I don't see where it can hurt to try it.

Well, I haven't noticed anyone else talking about problems like this so you might want to contact GOG and let them know?
Good to see Lucasarts onboard. Hopefully we will see some other titles too. Great debut.
