Caught in a landslide. No escape from reality.
This is such fantastic news! I never did play Sam & Max Hit the Road. I'll pick it up, but what I'm really dying for GOG to offer up is Curse of Monkey Island :)
Wallet. Pain.

Thank you, GOG. And damn you, GOG.
Congratulations, GOG! You've worked long and hard for this one, enjoy the moment ;)

skeletonbow: To Disney:

Thank you SO MUCH for bringing your games DRM-free to GOG.com. This is a monumental day for die hard classic gamers worldwide, and I don't remember any specific game or publisher being so eagerly anticipated on GOG.com in the past, at least not of this tier.

The cool thing is, not only are 2 of the 4 titles I've drooled over for years (X-Wing and TIE Fighter) available, but I suspect the sequels to them will be coming in the future at some point as well, and there is a multitude of LucasArts games that I never played at all or only played briefly at a friend's house or similar back in the day - which I otherwise would likely have never bought nowadays even though some are on Steam for some time now (older and newer games), but now that many (hopefully all!) may be showing up here on GOG I'm going to find it difficult to not buy most if not all of the LucasArts catalogue DRM-free! I perused some of the game store pages for various LucasArts games on Steam and watched some trailers and screenshots etc. and I dunno how so many of these came and went over the years without me even knowing they existed. I definitely plan on correcting that over time as they become available on GOG though!

To GOG:

Thanks to you as well for all the time and effort you guys must have spent over the years in establishing a relationship with LucasArts and now Disney and fighting the hard fight to track down game rights and make the hard sell to publishers to embrace DRM-free gaming principles. Thanks for your efforts in wooing them to GOG.com!

To everyone else:

Is it just me or do you need to refresh the GOG homepage in disbelief every few minutes and pinch yourself too? ;oP
Well said.

Memphis-Ahn: Loom where?
Wishful thinking on my part and I'm probably asking too much already but I'd LOVE to have the multiple versions of some of these earlier LA titles, as there are quite a number of differences. There's a version of Loom with full voice acting but the soundtrack cut out, and vice versa, among other things. The Amiga version would be swell (and it runs fine on ScummVM so compatibility is not an issue). And then there's the FM Towns version of Zak McKracken, widely considered to be the superior version of that game (and also runs fine on ScummVM).
Didn't read the whole thread yet. Why "Lucasfilms" and not "LucasArts"?

This is my new favourite post in this thead. xD
FM Towns versions of Loom and Zak McKracken would be apt extras when GOG releases the games. And then the Japanese computer ports of CRPGs after that!
OMG! Thank you! Thank you!. Come November, I'm picking up everything! And you even have X-Wing series.
