adaliabooks: Hmmm... would it be possible to actually 3D print a working CD?

I suppose if you could print a blank CD you could then burn the files on to it, but it (might) save some bandwidth to just download the blueprint for a finished CD and 3D print that rather than having to download the files and then burn the...

I imagine the material being the main issue... no idea what CDs are actually made of and where 3D printers are at these days in what they can use...

javihyuga: That was an interesting idea. I think another big problem would be resolution. But it's a nice thing to read a little about.
Yeah, apparently you can (just about) print a vinyl record, but the quality isn't great because the resolution is too low. So presumably a CD would still be quite a way off. But it would be awesome if they could some day, it would be great if you could download music and games straight to CDs, maybe print a case for them too :)

Wasn't there a fan full remake/remaster that was free of HL1?

Black Mesa, but it's not a final version.
It's in Early Access and costs money, that earlier build is free.

tinyE: If I had more reliable internet I'd join Steam in a heartbeat. I probably wouldn't buy much but it would at least open up my options. Snag that Postal Redux for one, forget about the rest of my backlog. ;P
I think I have an extra key for POSTAL Redux.

No. The game seems to launch but a window pops up saying you must have Steam running. You'd have to log in and switch Steam to offline mode.

Debating if I should join or not. I lose my connection every five or ten minutes where I am and that can make a client impossible.

Sounds like a pain, you'd need to download it and getting disconnected that often would make the download a long process.

That's why I still use the GOG Downloader and when that doesn't work "Download This".
