I would love for the game to come to GOG! I spotted Square Enix as one of the publishers, but no Denuvo yet on the store page, and I really hope it stays that way.

F4LL0UT: Not just any series, it's a series famous for its lesbian themes.

And that's pretty much all I know about the original games other than that they are some sort of thrillers with a static camera angle. Incidentally just recently they made it onto my the wishlist of games I want for my PSOne collection.
The hot girl on girl and other sexy pin-up stuff do pack a punch! I remembered first hearing about Fear Effect from some very enthusiastic fans on an old anime/gamimg forum I used to go to more than 10 years ago (I'm getting old, don't remind me). I think if you enjoy it's style, they should fill up your collection nicely. :)

Chacranajxy: Yeah, the first 2 games are Resident Evil-style... as in, fixed camera angles, tank controls, etc. I played through the first game again a few years back. Still good. It has the minor clumsiness you'd expect from RE-style games, but I had a great time all the way through.

F4LL0UT: One thing I wonder about is the difficulty level. For some reason I always sucked at the early Resident Evil games and somehow Fear Effect made it into some Top 10 list of "impossible PSX games" on YouTube or something. Can I safely assume that it's not that bad? :P
Yeah, it's not too bad. There are a couple parts that are sort of trial and error, but they have a save point right before them.
FE2:RH is the easier one. I don't recall any "reward" for playing that on hard but if you complete FE on hard, you can get the best ending which is also the only canonical one now that Sedna is here.
I'm getting phantom notifications again. :P

My previous post was supposed to quote you but somehow I've forgotten to do that and I didn't want to edit my post just to include a quote.
The game will finally launch on March 06 https://gematsu.com/2018/02/fear-effect-sedna-launches-march-6.
Not a fan of the art.
Fear Effect Sedna will be also released on GOG on March 06.

tinyE: I play everything on easy. I suck. :P
There is no shame in this. Look at it this way: you are playing the game to enjoy the art, music, story, etc. It you really like it then you can play it for the challenge :)

Thanks for the heads-up, here's the mention of it in Money.pl:

I hope Fear Effect Reinvented also winds up on GOG.
The only thing that turns me off from the original is tank control. I hope this one has better control scheme

Did you even look at the videos? This game is an entirely different genre, so your wish has been fulfilled. While I'm not a fan of that style of control, either, Fear Effect was one of my favorite ps2 games (I never owned an actual ps1). Never finished FE2, but it was OK as well, until the tank controls got in the way. I'm guessing this new game will not appeal to me at all, though, given that it uses real-time party-based combat. I concentrated on stealth takedowns in FE 1&2, which appears to no longer be possible. On the other hand, if it comes to gog, and becomes cheap enough, I'll probably get it just for the nostalgia/graphics.

Edit: watched a gameplay video, and naturally, the first thing they show off is a stealth takedown, making me look stupid (not that I need help). I guess it's actually real-time with pause, so maybe it's not as bad as I feared.

Interesting, Sushee's CEO said that the old controls will be kept as an option. Maybe it won't be that bad after all...
