Try just a small increase in voltage to the memory controller, or the memory itself.

I can give that a try. I know electronics are designed to have 10% tolerance in voltage. So the 1.2v memory should allow 1.08v-1.32v.

Other than it not booting right away, it appears to be working. Having a 12Gb Ramdrive is kinda nice. Though Firefox Portable breaks, but under a 1Gb ramdrive it works fine?

I've been using ImDisk Toolkit with a 6GB ramdrive for more than 5 years with no problems. I have all my temp folders and browsers' cache set on the ramdrive. How are you running your Firefox, directly from the ramdrive?

Having 2 modules in 2 dimm slots for the same size is way better than having 4 modules in 4 slots. Less issues and less headaches. Also Ryzen likes faster ram, 3200MHz CL16 would benefit you more than 2400MHz CL14. On top of that, 2x16 is cheaper than 4x8 on Amazon.

Edit: In order to avoid the possible memory incompatibility problems, always check your motherboard memory support list before buying.

I love imDisk, which is what i've bee using for years too. Some systems it crashes the OS when you start getting a large Ramdisk.

The 61 Firefox i'm using primarily for watching anime on Crunchyroll, so i'm using a portable version. Extract the portable version to the ramdrive and viola it runs, all files/temp/other are in the same directory as where it's extracted, making it easy to delete the state, or back it up using a script to remove the original files leaving me with a lean and clean ~15Mb file.

Nice to know... I would have probably been happy with 16Gb but searching and re-searching for the individual ram modules was a bit of a pain. Finding an exact match i just went for it.

That 'R' at the end means it is registered... not meant for normal home computers at all.

That's only if you have (or suspect to have) a bad module. Twice the time testing them.
In all other cases, it doesn't matter.

Also; e.g. 4x8GB: replacing one faulty module is cheaper than if you have 2x16GB.

Unlikely in this case though, I think only Epyc CPUs support RDIMMs, the computer probably wouldn't even start if they were registered. Also, googling that number I only see standard DDR4 Dimms, not even ECC modules.

Hmm, you are probably right but other manufacturers denote registered with an R in the model number but maybe this here is to tell it is red or something. I almost bought a set of registered the other day. Got to be careful.

if your on a budget never go with intel tbh, AMD sockets last for years and offer more bang for your buck especially atm with ryzens and threadrippers but ofc if your on a budget you wont buy a threadripper anyways :P

Ram seems to be slightly unstable, causing crashes. Quite annoying when trying to re-optimize and shrink textures in Skyrim...

Can't seen to change the 1.2v, but lowered from 2400Mhz to 2133Mhz, so far it seems stable... Then again yesterday i went all day with the ram on the previous settings with not a single problem...

Minor other things also seem to make it more unstable. like... having my second monitor as the primary monitor... or waking the computer from sleep...

Or letting it boot up... Being untouched crashes 3 minutes later, then reboot again...
