retsushi: There is still no ETA on the release, and GOG issued no statement on this release.

All we know is they "talk" to each other.

We should use social media to make sure they hear us and make a deal.
Well, the deal we all want is a free upgrade from Diamond to Enhanced :)
I am going to pick this up when it goes on sale thanks for the heads up!

This will never happen! Even getting a discount is not sure...

Only if Diamond remains as a bonus goodie.

XyleDaylight: They become more expensive by being bundled with things the customer may not want. That's less cheap.
You also have to now have to give money to X company for a product that's 'untouched' by them... why? They're not confident their version will sell well on its own, so they lock the original behind it. You have to pay them now (and a higher price) in order to obtain it.

StingingVelvet: Again, everyone with half a brain knows what they are doing. My only frustration was with the endless complaints about it, as if Oster came to everyone's house and pissed in their cereal individually. The games are still cheap, they've been in endless sales before and after being remastered, I just don't see it as a big deal. I don't know if it's the "political" controversy over Dragonspear or just normal PC gaming forum cynicism, but it's just silly to me.

I won't reply anymore though, feel free to yell at clouds without me.
I am no fan of Beamdog, ..I don't like the additions they made to Baldurs gate and Icewind Dale...but the hate for them gets really, really, over the top. if you think they put out a crappy produce, don't buy the games.

Yes, I think the original versions of the games should continue to be sold. But their comes a time when you just have ti say "That Sucks" and move on. Beamdo is going to when they think will make them the most money, and that is not going to change. A little bit of venting over your problems with Beamdo is fine, but some of this borders on some weird obsession.

And I have followed the discussions here, and am familiar with the criticisms of Beamdog,,many of which I agree with.
It's just the over the topness thar gets to me. SOme people truly seem obsessed with hating on Beamdog. I think they get pleasure from it.
And then there is the way they turn on anybody who does not join in their 2 minute hate against Beamdog....

nightcraw1er.488: How is it a stretch? One company tries it and gets away with it others will follow. Just look at any of the industry trends, everyone is doing in app purchases, day 1 dlc etc. Now

ApexProcyon: Was Beamdog the pioners of patching/remaking ancient games up to modern standards?

To be honest, I appreciate that games are fixed to work well on modern technology so that they're not lost in time. It's about time that the gamign industry stopped treating their producs as some throwaway commodity. As long as it's done in a way that's faithful to the source material and respectful towards the customer, I got no problem with it.

Imagine movie enthusiasts being at eachothers throats because of "lazy money grabbing re-releases" of classic movies on bluray or streaming. Why don't those lazy customers learn to fix their VCR?
Problme is with the Baldur's Gate games, Beamdog added original material which is their own creation, and was Not in the original game. (I am not talking about the original module they brought out..though is pretty much sucked).
That is not being faithful to the game. And you have no option in installing to omit the new charecters, items, etc.
The criticism Beamdog gets for that is deserved.
But still, the way people obsses with hating Beamdog is weird. I repeat;just don't buy the product if you think is is rrap.

Oh, come now, SV - we've been here for almost 10 years. Yelling at clouds is what we do here, you know that. :-)
from youtube reviews(which are retardedly positively), it looks like the same old shit you expect from lazy beamdoges. shitty sprite filters nobody wanted and the "ehanced" UI, which is the same UI . they say it's HD now, but it's really the default res from the original game blown up to HD resolutions, with that shitty filter thrown in. fuck beamdog. they're really just asset flippers with a license.

this thread is full of beamdog shills...
e.g. nobody on the NWN forum wanted the "enhanced" version either. and it's breaking tilesets. compatible my ass www.gog.com/forum/neverwinter_nights_series/nwn_1_enhanced_edition_beamdog/?search=beamdog

Thunker: Still not on gog.com...
NN without mods is shite. EE's are for peeps who can't be bothered to learn how to use mods. Steam has a mod workshop, which makes mods accessible for anyone who knows how to use a Fisher-Price Busy Box. GOG doesn't.

Any questions? ;p
Someone replied to Beamdogs tweet for NN: EE about bringing the game to GOG and both Beamdog and GOG liked it. Only a matter of time.
Throwing my post in here saying I'm awaiting NWN: EN coming to GOG. I don't buy from Steam anymore so would be nice to see it here.
I don't think this is coming to GOG< frankly.

hummer010: Without getting in to the subjective nature of your assertion that BeamDog performed a "quick cash grab", this is my main issue with your statement:

Responsible is a strong word. Legal precedent says you can't hold one person responsible for another person's actions. Perhaps inspired is the word you were looking for.
You can legally hold a person responsible for somebody else's action if it can be proved you ordered the other person to do it. You order somebody to commit a crime, you are just as guilty. That is why Charles Mason died in prision;he never physically killed anybody, but he ordered the murderers to do it.

Sure, but I don't think Beamdog "ordered" any other companies to do remasters, which is what we're talking about.

Ordered no, but once one group of con artists get away then the whole lot jump on board. #FCKbeamdog. You see, one does it and everyone else can.
