omega64: I'm just glad I haven't purchased it in the sales GOG had.
Did GOG ever sell it?

amrit9037: Ouch. That's even worse.

Well, I won't play it unless they finish the whole game.

I got it from trade.
When it went on 50%off.
Along with soundtrack.
I like ARPGs so it would have ended in my library anyway.

No.

I meant Shadows: Heretic Kingdoms. :P
Necro has been in the upcoming tab here for a long while, but not for sale.

amrit9037: Btw this reminds me of Shadows: Heretic Kingdoms.
Is there something wrong in it? Just asking as it is apparently sold in GOG too, so should I avoid it for some reason? GOG reviews for it seem mostly positive, a couple people complaining about crashes and stuff (even Steam version users).

There is nothing wrong in it.
As far as I know devs are working on second part of story while first part is playable with minor bugs.
So I think everything will be fixed once they finish the second part.

I too am apparently clueless about this game. Was it a Broken Age-type of release, where they decided to ship the first half of the game first?

Oh, I misunderstood it then. I thought this Nekro was pretty much an abandoned and unfinished game at this point, and I thought Shadows was considered similar.

If I remember correctly they only delievered the first half of the story and had big plans for the second half. But then the developers had problems with their publisher (?) and lost the rights to their own game and so there was a big risk that the game would stay unfinished forever. But by now they got the rights back and they are working on it again.

The developers entered Early Access with the intention of funding the game through there. Sometime later, they partnered with bitComposer in order to publish the game on retail and exit Early Access faster. As part of it, they ended up splitting the game in half with the promise of the second part being released 3 months later. Unfortunately for them, bitComposer had some serious financial issues of their own and ended up filing for insolvency just 1 month after the game's release. As a result, the game's status fell in limbo, with the developer unable to offer any updates to the game. Eventually, they got the rights to their game back more than half a year later and are now back on track to deliver an enhanced version of the first half, which will be used as a framework for the second half.

Good to know. I need to remind myself not to buy the game (esp. on GOG) before these promises have materialized into something tangible.

If what you say is true then,do you really think Scott would listen to this forum? If he has done all you say then you and this place have ''buckleys'' of getting a fair shake.

I don't see that anyone is this thread is demanding anything (so he could listen to it) and all the accusations are just quoted (nobody of us knows if they are true). So I would say this thread is mainly here to inform people about the situation and not to change anything about it.
Sad to hear that. I was looking forward to Nekro. It reminded me a lot of Overlord but in a different perspective.

What I ask of you is be very loud and demand that Scott hands over the assets and accounts

I don't believe I said demanding and the above line refers to the backers? And ''there''is always two sides to a story.
