Free updates are always a hoot but sometimes they are so massive, they even smash the game's name into pieces and rebuild it in their own image! <span class="bold">BRUTAL EDITION</span> introduces The Brute, a brand new playable class that comes swinging with 7 new unique pieces of armor and a whole set of fixes and additions like: 7 new enemies, 16 new weapons (including new unique abilities), new traps, tasty consumables and recipes, performance improvements, and combat tweaks.

As annoying as that is, they might also decide to rip out features in a year or so and call it the special 'DRM-Free Edition'.

or just sell the features as dlc first before releasing it as the super deluxe special edition a year later

Technically, the 20% discount is newsworthy (or it should be. I hate when I suddenly discover stealth discounts because it makes it seem that watching the first page isn't enough), and the "FREE UPDATE" is just in the spotlight.

But it's still good news if you consider that, other than the performance improvements and combat tweaks, everything else could be coming to us as DLC of the paid variety.

Considering that they could have easily sold this as DLC, it is really nice that they give this to everyone who already has the game for free. That's not something I'd count on nowadays.

Always like a free upgrade.
Still on the fence about this one.. price is a bit high for starters, but it's Harebrained and a roguelike so I really should like it... I'm just not sure about the real time / action elements.. I prefer my roguelikes turn based and tactical.


Any opinions from people who own it? (and have played it? :P)
