Not exactly. Verdun and Somme correlates in a way as two most prolonged and bloodshed WW1 campaings, their time also crosses.

Thank you - i actually didn't know that and Verdun was just a shot in the dark. It's pretty difficulte to guess the right battle looking at those pictures because the landscapes start to look pretty similar during the course of the battles...

Looking at the picture i assume it was the French Offensive which means it's the First Offensive Battle of Verdun
