Every time GOG has one of these "Mystery Game" things I always give in and get one. And every time I've gotten a game that I have absolutely ZERO interest in.

This time I got an FPS. I don't play or even *like* FPSs, but now I've got one.

Or should I say another one, because I'm sure I've got a few others from these wonderful "Mystery Game" offers.

I'm not complaining. I'm not asking for a refund. I rolled the dice. I know what to expect. I guess I just wish the process that happens behind the scenes would look at the majority of the games already in my library and maybe reward me with something I would enjoy based on my interests. This 100% randomization thing seems rather uneventful.

It almost seems like you're just rewarded with some low-priced obscure game that isn't selling through normal means, so GOG just throws one of those at you so they can tell the developer, "HEY, we sold one of your games!"

So anyway, I'm just venting. I doubt I'll ever play this or any of the other "Mystery Games" I've purchased, but maybe my message will get through to someone and maybe, just *maybe*, some bit of data mining will be implemented to help out guys like me. That is all. Thank you.

Every one of these sales, someone has done a tracking thread...

Can be found here:

And my personal opinion is that the "Mystery Game" deals are only really a "deal" for those with large collections. For this one, a person who already had gotten most all of the Interplay games when they were bundled and jumped on other big discounts in the past, might be left with a handful of lower priced games left in the pool along side the more desirable titles, meaning it might be worth it to "buy through" a few games to get Urban Empire and Syberia 3 for example.

For everyone else, especially those with many games on "other services" which they would rather not duplicate (or Linux or Mac users), the "hats" really are not worth it. Better to wait for the individual sales one wants.

I think if you haven't downloaded the game yet you can ask support to convert it into a gift. Then maybe you find someone to trade it.
