mike_cesara: Call Sandra, she may still have one.
Ohhh my god, that desk... the perfectly preserved workspace of a 1990s turbonerd.

The Net.

JMich: The Net.
Thanks! You know, this is the type of movie that GOG should be selling in the first place.

mike_cesara: You're absolutely right!
I wasn't aware of that, I don't think I know a single person with Mac back then : )
and I am sorry for the late reply..

Maighstir: My first computer was a Macintosh Performa 475. I got it in '94, it was underpowered even when introduced in '92 (25 MHz 68LC040 without an FPU - granted, the Performas were always budget machines), and it was my only computer until '99 when I built a 550MHz AMD Athlon machine. The Athlon box is long since scrapped but the Performa still runs (though upgraded to a 4GB HDD, 36MB RAM, and an AAUI ethernet card compared to the 150MB, 4MB, and only Appletalk networking it had originally).
In nineties I didn't have time for computers, and C-64 was still good enough for me. I did use 33 or so MHz as a typing machine back then (again, edit was more than enough). Grabbed P133 or P166 which I still have but my first real built was Celeron 433 (with shitty ecs motherboard, replaced with asus few weeks later), o/c to around 600MHz and tons of graphics cards as well as tweaked to 160kbit/s ISDN. Started with something like 16MB of RAM and by the end I had 768MB : )
First Mac I saw by the end of nineties, used as a typing machine ; )

Maighstir: Oh, Hypercard!? I want that!
I have one of those elusive CD-ROM copies. The documentation says it includes the Myst stack but it's not actually on the CD and I don't think the one I got came with a second disc. Anyway, still wonderful to SheepShaver up HyperCard every now and then, for old times sake.

madanjeet: was hoping, perhaps naively, I might be able to find Windows-10 adampted CDs or DVDs...I imagine they might cost a wee bit more than usual. Thank you anyway.
ScummVM just added the first Myst to their list of supported games, so you could run any older copies of it now.

It is a virtual machine for playing a certain section of games. It was initially a way of playing monkey island games in newer operating systems, but it has now expanded to support many games. Goto their website and have a look.
When someone says MYST my mind gives me flashback of MYTH series. :/
