ive seen a video on ign were there was a topic about gaming market fragmentation and exclusivity also a talk about dlcs, microtransactions and so on....

what i would like to see

PC side :

> one drm - free provider : preferably gog.com of course ;) sorry steam your full of checking protection, online drm bullshit / no more Origin, Uplay, battlenet, Epic games or other more client installers
> all retail games also drm - free with patching done online
> cheap prices (some of them are dirty cheap even new releases)
> no more paid dlcs - > go expansion pack way like in the good old days or offer them free (respect to Witcher 3 devs)

Console side : (like mentioned in that video this is a great idea)

> one console ecosystem (different manufactures like dvd-players : Toshiba, Samsung, Sony... you got the idea)
basically every game you pick will be like a blu-ray movie and play it in a console manufactured by different company
but with the same specs
> different controller models that work on every console
> no more market fragmentation from Sony , Microsoft and Nintendo
> lower prices same as pc games

PC & Console Side : NO MORE EXCLUSIVITY

so basically consoles will be for people with low cash that get near medium good visuals as PC
and PC for enthusiasts

My perfect gaming world is to play games with people who are in the same room so that I can physically punch them if I choose to, but I digress.

You don't want that!

You obviously have never taken an NES controller to the side of the head after dunking on your best bud during a friendly game of "Double Dribble".

We're talking perfect here?

DRM-freedom, Linux support/ or some other non-proprietary OS, no micro-transactions, massive amounts of options i.e. no restrictions in how you want to play, modding support, free software licenses, non-proprietary hardware drivers, more (viable) hardware options, quality over quantity=game length, good versatile controllers/ gaming keyboards with inbuilt analogue sticks and mice with many buttons should be the standard, non-proprietary consoles and so on...

You could check out Linux Mint for example and boot it from USB/a DVD or install it alongside Windows.

Using GNU/Linux operating systems only is a bit like only buying games from GOG. The main advantages are obvious: They are DRM-free, open-source are mostly non-proprietary/ a few are completely non-proprietary. However, they aren't as popular, so most companies can ignore the more user friendly operating systems.

Having a bootable USB drive or a Linux installation on hand is a very good idea for almost everyone, though. You could browse websites or handle files that you don't trust completely with Linux or keep Windows completely offline. You can more easily save your data and protect your privacy better if you aren't forced to use WIndows.

I have three brothers. Including me, we are four. As kids, we played virtual-reality Golden Axe. That is, two of us would play (on Sega Genesis), and the other two would stand behind the players with sofa cushions. If you got hit in the game, you got hit in reality. Cooperation was impossible as nobody could resist stunning the other player, leaving him vulnerable to a quick-slashing skeleton or the like.

It was quite uncomfortable and kind of sucked. Upside-down Golden Axe, Blind Golden Axe, and Scoops Only Golden Axe were better. Dammit did we play a lot of Golden Axe.

I've found it. My favorite GOG forums' post of 2015.

Made me laugh, good storytelling that. Rereading, I gotta ask: what the heck is "Scoops Only Golden Axe"? Getting hit with spoons instead of pillows?
