Mine came up with the "this may take several days" message. I guess you'll have to wait until tomorrow
Did you get the add to library button though? I did.

dm36: Got the little button to add the new games to my GOG library. Did just that.

Went to my library, saw no new games. Went back to connect, and now the eligible games list is blank.
Happend to me 2 times now. It is searching again
Yeah, does it still say looking for eligible games?
It does, for me.

It's not spinning anymore at least. lol.

dm36: After about 12 hours, both accounts have successfully merged. Got the little button to add the new games to my GOG library. Did just that.

Went to my library, saw no new games. Went back to connect, and now the eligible games list is blank.
Exactly what happened to me.

I just hope the games will appear before the 5 day window is closed. It says I have to wait up to several days.

So finally after more than 8 hours the accounts connect, and my only eligible game shows up (Zomboid) and in my excitement I clicked the little green check mark away, and the game disappeared, but it's not downloading.

And it's gone back to looking for games.

Did I just screw the pooch on getting Zomboid for free on GOG?

Same for me. Added my 8 elegible games but nothing happens. They're not present in my GOG library, and the GOG connect page is now empty. I suppose the games will be added in the next days, but would be glade if there will be an official reply from GOG about this
OK so i guess clicking the green check mark was the right thing to do....? *hesitant confidence*

I got something different, I clicked on the box for the game and it sent me to the store page, and now its blank and searching for games again :\ seems this system is in alpha haha

No, clicking the green checkmark was wrong. You unchecked the game this way. Instead you should have clicked the "add game" button. Try to refresh the site, the game should show up again (might not happen the first time you try, but after some hours it should work).
Same thing here.

I left it to connect overnight and awoke to find I had 16 games to add. Clicked the "add games button" and nothing seems to have happened.

It tells me that my accounts are connected and that it's looking for the games again.
I never saw list of games on gog connect page. It was empty even before I connected my steam acc.

There will be so much rage if ppl miss out on this because of technical issues ;)
