So basically I downloaded Galaxy client on my girlfriends laptop at her house, downloaded Icewind Dale and all was well (I already have the client downloaded on my own PC at home). Clocked 18 hours into it, decided to download it onto my own PC and memory stick the save file over to carry on playing but I hit a snag...my download got to 99.8% and just stopped for ages. The full thing was actually downloaded but nothing was happening. So I reluctantly aborted and tried Icewind Dale 2 instead. It got to 100% but did the same thing -.-
Is that it now then? Because I have 2 clients I can't download properly now?

Any idea what's wrong?

Thanks in advance

Looks like it is the same problem:

Download the games from browser directly :P
Not sure what's wrong with the Galaxy client, but you can DL the game files through your browser or you can use the old DLer (which is what I use - it still works great). Then install manually.
Try disabling Anti Virus Software while downloading or add the download path for Galaxy to the exception list.
I think that's a bug which happened relatively often shortly after Galaxy's release. Maybe they messed something up again.

Have you tried downloading the stand-alone installers through the "BACKUP" function? If it manages to complete that download, you can simply run the installer and then add the game to Galaxy manually.

What's that exactly?

My reply won't be for a while, I'm going to bed now.

Thanks for the replies guys!

I haven't used Galaxy in quite a while, but if you go to a game's entry in your Galaxy-library, there should be an option called "BACKUP" under "MORE". If you use that, Galaxy will download the same installer that's available from the website itself or through the old downloader, meaning can use it to install any game without having to download it every time. You can copy it to a USB drive/HDD for later use, or to install the game on multiple PC without the need to be online.
Galaxy also has the ability to recognize any GOG game that you had already installed; and integrate it into the client. Use either the "scan directories"(?) option on Galaxy's main screen (maybe it was just a "+"-button, I can't remember) or "add manually"(?) in the individual game's library entry after you have installed it via the stand-alone option above.

Again, I haven't even looked at Galaxy in a long time now, so some of this is probably very inaccurate or has changed, but it was the general process back then.
Another member reported a similiar problem b4 u so this means that it is likely a Galaxy client issue. U may want to write in to Support & see wat they hv to say regarding this. My guess is it is probably temporary & may be resolved in a few more hrs if everything goes well. In the meantime, u may want to dl games manually thru the browser or GoG Downloader.
I managed to get Icewind Dale installed thanks to everyone's help :)
Although I did come across a problem in which the game wouldn't display properly, it would try and display what I can only describe as "part off-screen". Only about 30% of the game window was viewable in the bottom right of my screen!

(Just if anyone needs to know) I managed to fix this by right clicking on the IWD icon and clicking properties and choosing the Windows XP service pack 3. It works but it takes about 10-20 seconds for the game to actually pop up. But after that it's fine.

But now I have another problem, I want to add it to my Galaxy library launcher but I click to import and it doesn't detect my game. I've had a google search for that problem too and it's a common issue with pretty much the entire launcher in general. Anybody got a fix yet?
Sometimes a similar issue happens to me when downloading from the website, the download just stops at a random percentage and I have to restart it to solve the problem. Not a big issue for me, but maybe it's related to Galaxy too?

Try in the Library View: More -> Manage -> Import folder

That's the first thing I tried, I clicked to import. Got nothing.

Use browser download.
Been trying to DL a game for two days now, finally gave up and asked for my money back. Will get it someplace else.

How did you try to download it?
If it was Galaxy, I recommend you to either use the old downloader or use the browser download.
