i have a weird problem i have looked all over for a solution maybe you guys can help


so ive been playing arcanum a bunch i got really far in and i was trying the -no3d -triplebuffer to try and help the lag and i launched the game and my saves were gone and i had tried this before and nothing was different exept for the fact i changed -doublebuffer to -triplebuffer and my saves are gone they havent changed location i checked every file looking for them they have completely disappeared does anyone know of anyplace i might not have looked? i really dont want to replay to where i was

Are you sure all the proper locations are empty? Perhaps saves are outside of game folder, somewhere in your user files.

Oh, and your system may mark the files as hidden (need to check your explorer settings if running Windows) or available for admin user only.

ive checked in every place where it should/could be and it isnt anywhere i marked show hidden and looked in my user files, nothing

Maybe you are starting the game "as administrator"? Or started as administrator in the past and as common user now.

tried both thinking that was the issue with no luck

Can you share the solution so others will know what to look for if they have a similar issue?

sure i went on file explorer and i searched for all the file types the saves are and they were in a hidden duplicate arcanum folder i have no idea why
