arsalan12: Has anyone seen Halloween 2018 yet? If yes then is it worth to watch?
Yes. It's very hard to get me uneasy during a movie, and I was extremely uneasy and really enjoyed myself. It definitely is worth the watch imo.

DracoMagister: Evil Dead trilogy, also any Vincent Price movie.

BStone: "House on Haunted Hill (1959)" should be played on Halloween like "A Christmas Story" is played at Christmas time.
Agreed! One of my mom's favorites that she's passed on to me.

Ummm I've watched so many horror flicks it's hard firstly remember them and then name a few.
Without a doubt Argento's clessics: Deep Red, Suspiria, Phenomena, inferno, Tenebre but also less known italian horrors like House with the Windows That Laugh (1976) and Zeder(1983).

More recent titles, I dunno, first ones that come to mind are: Martyrs (2008) and Haute tension (2003), The Autopsy of Jane Doe can be enjoyed also, oh, and Don't Breathe isn't bad, Resolution (2012), 10 Cloverfield Lane, and I loved Ringu 1 and 0 while Rasen was pretty crappy and a lot of Japanese Horror/weird movies which I like also.

So many movies e such a small memory. :)

Matewis: 8 Legged Freaks !!! with Kari Wuhrer <3 aka Tanya
In the late 90s I had a huge thing for her after watching a movie called Hit & Run (aka Red-Blooded American Girl II) (1997) on Showtime

She was wild, crazy, and sexy as hell in that movie, and my 14 year old self loved every minute of it.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Anyway, to add to the movies list, a couple that haven't been mentioned yet:

Hostel I and Hostel II

I like these and find them creepy because it seems like something that could really happen.

Avoid Hostel III, it's a low budget straight to video movie.

Definitely check out Red Alert 2 then :)
The Exorcist.
"Babadook", though you gotta be prepared for more of a psychological side of horror instead of a slasher or gore flick.

Telika: Sooooo...

The Exorcist
The Tenant
Rosemary's Baby
It Follows
The ring / Ringu
The Shining
Darkness
Rec
The Changeling
The Thing
Prince of Darkness
Invasion of the Body Snatchers
Don't Look Now
Night of the Living Dead
Angel Heart
The Serpent and The Rainbow
The devil's backbone
Lost Highway
Suspiria / Inferno
Evil Dead
The Mist
The Grudge
The Omen
The Eclipse (does it qualify ?)
The exorcism of Michael King

I'd say. Maybe the Witch aswell, maybe In the mouth of Madness, and, if I may add a couple of tv stuff, Twin Peaks and Riget.
Just an opinion, but I don't think The Thing is actually that scary in comparison to the other horror movie titles that you have put in your long list there.

-AdApt-: The Exorcist.
I have to say, I'm always baffled by people mentioning this movie as one of the all time great horrors. And it's not scary. It's not just not scary. It's hilarious. How could anyone be scared of it? It's so silly, so goofy, I can't believe it wasn't made as a comedy. I literally laughed through most of it.

Old school: "Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?"

Within the past 30ish years: "Hellbound: Hellraiser 2"
(1960) The Mask Of Satan
(1979) The Amityville Horror
(1980) The Shining
(2004) Saw
(2005) Saw II
(2007) Dead Silence
(2013) The Conjuring
(2013) The Haunting In Connecticut 2 - Ghosts Of Georgia
I prefer sci-fi horror, action horror and horror comedy opposed to slasher horror, though that is fun too.

Some of my favorites:
-John Carpenter's The Thing (one of my all time favs)
-Alien & Aliens
-Predator & Predators
-Evil Dead 1, 2, Army of Darkness, Ash vs Evil Dead & Evil Dead remake (I know a lot of people disliked it but I enjoyed it)
-28 Days Later
-Slither
-Tucker & Dale vs Evil (comedy horror)
-Tremors
-The Others
-Drag Me To Hell
Nightmare on Elm Street was always the one for me as a kid, got me into horror forever pretty much

Halloween is a must as well since you obviously plan on watching some horror movies over october ^^

Friday the 13th

Now I've got some of the more obvious ones out the way...

Black Christmas (the original)

1408

IT (the old ones or the new one, love em both, hope they return as adults for the modern ones)

Thirteen Ghosts
I liked The Ring, except for the ending. It made no sense, and was obviously thrown in as the setup for a sequel.

Unless I read too fast, no one mentioned Deliver Us From Evil, which I thought was pretty good. Totally agree on the first two Alien movies, esp Aliens--one of my all-time favorite movies.
