I am looking for some music similar to soundtrack in Unreal Tournament 1.
Does anyone know what music genre it is?
I remember that some games in late 90s had similar style of electronic music, especially some action and racing ones, but I played too many titles in that time.
The ones that come to my mind are Motorhead, 7th Legion, Future Cop, International Rally Championship, Deus Ex 3.
Thanks for any recommendations of songs (can be from games, movies or just made by music artists).
Some examples below.

At one point I was busy working my way through the thread looking for music for a new playlist. Here is a sample of some of the music I found:

Yes, just to add, on Groupees there is often an 80's Retro collection up for grabs, I have 3 or 4 packs and for $2 or $3 its well worth it.

Thanks for your contribution.
Your link is indeed a good source, but for electronic sounds that are typical for feeling of 80s.
Basing on my examples, I am targeting at electronic sounds that more remind feeling of 90s.
From my current research, it seems that music I am focused on is influenced by styles like industrial/ebm/idm/dark electro, breakbeat/big beat and goa trance/psytrance, but these are only borrowed elements and when I take a look at mentioned styles, then this is not it.

What's killing me is that I once came across music just like that on youtube, but for the life of me I can't remember the group. The 'album cover' was a dystopian wasteland, with a skull somehow featuring prominently. I'll use my google-fu a bit later and see if I can find it.
I love the music in Unreal, Unreal Tournament and Deus Ex.

Similar vibes are in this song: https://modarchive.org/index.php?request=view_by_moduleid&query=60400

This is classic mod music (s3m / it / mod format). Maybe someone has other mod recommendations?

EDIT: link to the correct mod. Also check soundtrack to Crusader: no remorse and the sequel "no regret".

It sounds like you're looking for more tracker music. The guys who made the soundtracks for Unreal, Unreal Tournament and Deus Ex are ex-scene and have produced music under various handles such as "Necros" (Andrew Sega), "Basehead" (Daniel Gardopee) and "Siren" (Alexander Brandon).

You should take a look at the link to The Mod Archive that Nightblair posted. You can also check out the demos at pouet.net. Many of those feature tracker music, especially the Amiga and PC DOS stuff.

And a suggestion: Listen to Purple Motion :)

I am already familiar with tracker music scene since 90s and collected most known artists, including the ones you mentioned.
Now I am looking for some CD sound quality stuff (and I do not mean converting mods to wav).

In that case, check out the newer (post 2000) demos on Pouet. Is the music in this more what you are after?

Not exactly, it is more like ambient music than energetic like in UT game.
But, whole demo is amazing as for 64k limit, and they had to use some synthesizer code to generate the sound.
It reminded me playable FPS game ".kkrieger" from 2004 which had 96k limit: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.kkrieger
As about main post, I am looking for music commercially released (can be also in-game soundtrack) or indepedent if was released on physical CD or available in lossless format (like FLAC).

¿Do you find something? im doing the same search as yours. I cant get out of my brain the music from the first beta release of unreal. Its like electronic with indigenous instruments. It make me feel lost in a ancient planet... its strange. I have no luck finding the equivalent in the present.. perhaps we can ask brandom :P

Gosh, I wouldn't happen to have a link to one of the largest repositories of module music on hand, would I?
