So was wondering if anyone know if I will be able to play multiplayer across platforms? I have a mac and my husband has a PC, so is there any special steps that i would need to take? Or should it be just like any other LAN game?

Any particular game you're thinking about, because they don't all work the same for multiplayer.

Torchlight and torchlight 2

I didn't know torchlight had multiplayer?

But I've played Torchlight 2 with my sister; she on Windows, me on Linux. Worked fine so far as I can tell. Your mileage may vary.

The first Torchlight has no multiplayer.
The second Torchlight should have cross-platform multiplayer, either via LAN or via online multiplayer (the latter requires a Runic account).
