The problem here is that the actual version (beta7) uses an installer, while the version before (beta6) was a zip-file. I don't know why they changed it, but it seems that indeed you can't change the language with the installer. With the older beta6-file it works, in my case i play the game in german.

Edit: Checking the thread it seems they integrated a registry-check for language. I will see if there is a way to unpack the installer to get the files.

I changed it as it isn't quite legal to distribute half the game files without any kind of checks. Still, the patch wouldn't back then either necessarily work correctly as translation patch for each language as it was never designed to be that. Some of the official localizations of the game used Unicode and others didn't, so they wouldn't go well together.

Ah, now I see, you're the maker of the patch. Didn't remembered your name at first. I use your beta6-patch to play the game in german and it works well for me, but I can now understand why you don''t want to support it officialy and installed a check for legal issues.

Do you have any contact to an official, so maybe we can ask if it's okay to release the patch also as a zip-file again?

I hope that with the site revival the GoG Team will show us something substantial updating every game in the catalog with all the language available.

I was planning on making true translation patches once the patch got finished. But I'm too lazy to do the final 5% that's remaining to release the non-beta.

Your patch works really great, so a big thank you for the work you've already done. To feel lazy after the long time you've already spent in this project is more than normal, a break can really help to get someday the passion and the fun back.

please remove the link to bg.fr.dialog.zip, because it does not exist :) I only have french TOSC File ( tosc.fr.dialog.zip ) . For upcoming BG 2 the files are on the server, but german only ( soa.de.dialog.zip and tob.de.dialog.zip )
