DaCostaBR: haha!

You shouldn't act so surprised when you're the only one who doesn't like it.
I know I'm in the minority, but I'm sure there must others who recognise it for the overrated crap that it is. Still, there is a huge gap between fiding it watchable or even liking it and considering one of the best TV series ever. The first two I'd let slide. But the third one. No. I refuse to ever not be shocked and appalled by the very notion. It's downright offensive to everyone who ever worked hard on any of the truly great TV shows. To anyone who ever made or worked on anything truly great. It's like calling the spork one of mankinds greatest inventions.

The spork is the pinnacle of human engineering. Especially the titanium spork.

Between this, the meltdown you linked, the Force Awakens, Marvel movies, and all the other popular things you seem to despise so much, you really have to chill. Not everything that people like and you don't needs to be a crime against humanity. It's just not worth the energy.

P.S.: I just have to ask now, what's your stance on Disney and/or Pixar movies?

Bah, humbug. I'll waste my energy however I see fit. Just like you are free waste your time on watching Game of Thrones :D

Depends on the movie (and I have not seen all of them). Some are great, some good, plenty are just mediocre or boring as hell. Most I find to be vastly overrated, to say the least (and yes, that includes The Lion King).

Ah, for the record- I do not "despise" The Force Awakens. It's way to bland to warrant an emotion that strong.

DaCostaBR: Also, out of the ones you listed I only knew MASH and Highlander to have TV shows.
avatar
tinyE: That's because out of that list only three were any good: MASH, Highlander, and Alien Nation.

OH, I FORGOT: Buffy. Not good, but another movie turned into a show.
Don't know about the Buffy movie, but the show was quite varied. And from all the episodes of all TV shows I saw (and these have seen MANY!) Buffys "The Body" (5th season episode) was one which left the biggest impact in my memory. You might want to give it another try.

tinyE: Buffy. Not good.
I used to hate Buffy for no reason at all. I hadn't watched it and I frankly thought it was something different from what it actually is. When people convinced me to watch it, I was hooked. I watched every Buffy and Angel episode, and am now reading their comic continuations, and was never once bored or disappointed. They are excellent. And extremely funny.

I wouldn't call this the latest trend - more a continuation of a long, long running theme.

I was never a fan of The Warriors anyway, but I guess that given the film total lack of a meaningful plot it should be easy enough to make an episodic story about the lives of these hip young punks. Let's hope they can come up with more depth than 'dicks who get into fights'.

I'm not sure if tinyE's 'not good' referred to the movie or to the series. If it referred to the movie then he's...not wrong.

That's true.
I didn't think the buffy movie or the series were good. Friend used to watch the series all the time when I'd visit I'd damn near fall asleep in the chair.
