Dorkness over 9000.

The Gamers, a 5-part comedic fantasy series firmly based in the nerdiest corners of the role-playing games fandom, is available up to 60% off on GOG.com. That's only $15.15 for the whole collection: Humans & Households, Hands of Fate, Dorkness Rising, Natural One, and the one that started it all, The Gamers (Director’s Cut), for the first four days.

One late night in a college dorm, four socially inept geeks immerse themselves in a fantasy world of their own creation. As their characters journey through forbidden kingdoms, ancient ruins, and the forsaken wilderness, the players attempt to solve a mysterious puzzle that could ultimately mean the difference between getting a life and death. Who is The Shadow? Where is The Princess hidden? Will any of them ever find a date? And how long do they have before their annoyed neighbors call the cops? So many questions, and that's only the first of the many adventures that lie ahead of our the bold party of heroes!

Get the whole series of The Gamers movies on GOG.com and save 60%, or get 40% discount on movies purchased separately. The special launch discount offer lasts until Tuesday, October 7, at 2:29PM GMT.

Vestin: The series with "Dorkness Rising"? Awesome :D!
I saw that a year or two ago. Remember it being quite funny.

Piranjade: I watched the first one a long time ago and found it pretty funny. My sister told that the others in the series are at least that good if not better.
Which means that I might buy this.
LOL
Too late. My sister just bought the series once for herself and a second time as a gift code for me. *happy*
Will start watching them right away tomorrow. :-)

Smannesman: Hmm the 720p of The Gamers is not 720p, that's not great.
It's by far the oldest of the series, with a release date of 2002 according to its movie page (there's just something weird to me about saying "moviecard"). It's entirely possible it wasn't filmed in true 720p quality.

It does say 'available resolution' which is false advertising.
Which is not a particularly great thing.
You can't just put up a regular version of Alley Cat and claim it's full HD 5.1 surround sound and after the sale say "Well those technologies didn't exist back then so obviously you're stupid for believing that."
Awesome! I was introduced to the series last year and really enjoyed the first two movies.
There's 5 movies? Wow, i only thought there were 3...

I'd say a good release :)
Blood! Death! Vengeance!

Very nice release, I was hoping fors this after Dark Dungeons.
I have to say I've been skeptical of how much traction the movies addition will have and what those of the GOG.com think tank must've been looking at to see similar interests in their userbase; however, after reading the descriptions, comments and reviews I admit I'm intrigued and at least have to wishlist these, if not buy them outright. I enjoy nerdy, campy, b-movie style films, though don't watch them often, yet, hadn't heard of these ones before.
Well, guess like others here I just give up and inaugurated my movie shelf with this series

I'm not sure if they are of any interest to someone not into pen and paper RPGs.

Probably true, but as I've played numerous pen n' paper RPGs over the last 20-25 years I definitely do have an interest in these.
"What did she say?"
"She said: Oh yes! Oh yes! Oh my god! Oh yes!"
...

Wow! What a weekend. First Terraria and now The Gamers. Fantastic series and finally some movies worth buying on GOG.

Bought, I first played DnD and then a curious hybrid of ADnD2nd edition and 1st edition DnD. This lasted for a year or so, after which the Dungeon Master and one of the players got way too serious about it and I lost interest. I did play a lot of ADnD games after that, some of which are on GOG right now.
Of the grid-based computer games, Eye of the Beholder 2(Still missing on GOG, which is a shame), was my favourite, although I also poured too many hours into Baldur's Gate I + II and IceWind Dale (on GOG). A modern game that clearly draws it's inspiration from those games is Legend of Grimrock, although that game is too twitchy for my skill level. EOB II was brutal on some occasions, especially during the scene when the player ascends the Tower of the Winds, but never requiring such lightning reflexes as Grimrock....
Welp, there you go. After seven gazillion (roughly) game purchases on gog, I've finally succumbed and bought a movie.

I've heard of this series, and usually with high praise, so I'm hoping for a good time. Me and my gaming group have yet to see it, so it should make for a fun pre-game show.
I guess my movie shelf refuses to stand alone.
