Fairfox: Sooo I hate most movies, ever.

Still! I've agreed with my friends to host a movie nite.
RIP Fairfox. I hardly knew ye :(

Leroux: Kind of a weird request ... You hate most movies and despite that, you have agreed to watch loads of them suggested by your friends, and for the one night you are in control over what movie will be shown, instead of picking a lesser evil, a favorite of yours or at least one you can tolerate, you ask strangers to suggest even more random titles that you will probably hate? :D
It is indeed a weird request, but I was compelled to answer because it's rare I actually understand what Fairfox is talking about. :)

Friends are more important to her than personal wellbeing. That´s very nice of Fairfox :)
Demolition Man.

One of the best movies ever made.

Fairfox: THIS IS A GOOD SUGGESTION! I'll look into Short Circuit! +1

Need more ideas like this.
Maybe Innerspace with Dennis Quaid? It´s a comedy/adventure movie about a scientist in a submarine who gets shrunk and injected in another human.

Have you figured out about those three shells?

real.geizterfahr: The Lord of the Rings Trilogy - Extended Edition, of course.

:P :P :P

Fairfox: I'll be a withered skeleton by the time they finish. Also, they look pretentious and I think I hate them in advance?
In my personal opinion, they're a bit overrated. Not bad (they're good!), but way too long. They should've released a "Condensed Edition" instead of the Extended Edition.

I'm totally into movies and I love Fantasy with huge battles, magic, monsters and stuff. But when a movie starts to show you people walking/running/riding through some landscape every 5 minutes, it starts to get boring pretty fast. I have the same problem with books. Terry Brooks' Shannara series (basically a LotR ripoff) is great, but he somehow loves to describe every new scenery over two or more pages.

Fairfox: Romance, action... uuuh... does 'Short' count?
If romantic comedy is your thing, you should try some of the Hugh Grant movies. They're pretty shallow, but he's the born actor for these kind of movies. Music and Lyrics wasn't that bad.

Action? I'd recommend Die Hard (first or second one - the others are crap) or anything with Jason Statham, but... I thought you hate blood?

Or you just watch something totally nuts. Or bananas. Or... Tomatoes! Attack of the Killer Tomatoes! The whole movie is a single "WTF?!" moment.

Or something... trippy. Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas is pretty awesome.

GameRager: 1. If you want "short" try Short Circuit 1/2...funny comedies with some action about a robot come to life.

2. Join the club. o.0

Bah, the first was free but any more will cost ya.......j/k I will support some other suggestions ITT:

In post 14 I suggest Money Pit....good comedy about a couple fixing a crappy broken down house and becoming angry at each other then not in one film. A good film, imo.

In the same post(14) I also recommend Dirty Rotten Scoundrels....great comedy about a scammer(s) and them duping one another.

In post 19 Demolition Man is a great action-comedy about a post-apocalyptic society and a man from a prior era trying to fit in as he fights a foe from the same prior era....very fun to watch if one likes action/the past's action greats.

misteryo: Joe Vs The Volcano - best movie ever.

Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan. Wonderful hilarious one-of-a-kind movie.
avatar
MadalinStroe: I'm not even kididng, but speaking of...
The Money Pit
Tom Hanks and Shelley Long. Wonderful hilarious one-of-a-kind movie.

Also...
Dirty Rotten Scoundrels
Steve Martin, Michael Caine and Glenne Headly. This is the first movie I've seen Michael Cain in, and he is hilarious.

And finally...
HouseSitter
Steve Martin and Goldie Hawn. Once again, amazing comedy I get glued on, whenever I catch it on TV.
Money Pit and DRS are great films....never saw the last one you picked, though.

Also Mr Blandings Builds His Dream House(old film) is a great classic.

I think someone on the net went and tried figuring that out and had pics showing what each might've been used for.

I'm not an intelligent person :/

But yah, it's less movie, more friendship 'n' family. If I have to sit an' watch a gazillion awful movies, so be it. lol, it's not like we're goin' to be silent or anythang when watchin'. I'm just scared of blood or horror or long or complicated or series' or basic lee everything to do with films.

I will age decades in teh span of a few months. I need a mirror like that Dorian dude (guess I'm SMRT after all!).

I'll research all I've been given! I mean... I'm allowed to research my own movies :D
...

...
Wait. God, I hope so.
I know they don't really fit the criteria but they are just too good to not mention them, so here goes. :)
I'll add a few more later on...once I remember the names...

Equilibrium
Leon the Professional
Constantine (has quite a lot of blood...I think?)
Minority Report
The Crimson Rivers
Last Action Hero
Wasabi, might be more to your liking

If you liked "The Money Pit" you'll like Housesitter. Steve Martin is an architect who build a dream house for his girlfriend and asks her to marry him, only for her to refuse him. In comes Goldie Hawn, who is something of a bullshit artist, ends up pretending she is married to Steve Martin, in order to make his old girlfriend jealous. And all the comedy comes from the absurd situations they end up in, due to their lies. By the way, released on Blu-ray on April 16, 2019. You also mentioned you liked Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, well... Housesitter is by the same director.
