Morrowind asks "insert CD" error. I can't play it...how can I fix it...and how do I get support from GOG? I only get topics; but I can't contact GOG

Have you tried to start the game with admin rights?

This is weird, I didn't get this problem. The game runs fine for me. About GOG support, well, there's this big tab on top of this page, where it's written "support", between "community" and "account". You should click on it, read it's content and follow the instructions. Answers usually take a day or two. Another option would be to post your question on the game specific forum. Whenever I have a problem with a game, I try this first and in most cases some kind soul will offer help, it's really cool.

Just to be sure: You are playing the GOG version of the game, right?

I played Morrowind with OpenMW and I did not get this problem.

Did you by any chance install a mod that replaced the executable?

Did you happen to patch the game after installing?

I am trying to run the game as administrator. I have followed the instructions given by GOG to fix this problem; but I still can't LAUNCH the game. I can play the game with the morrowind exe; but that doesn't allow me to use the mods. I can Launch the Morrowind display, and even open the data folder in the Launcher; but when I press the play button I get the insert CD error message

I don't remember the file structure, but I assume the launcher has it's own executable, so make sure you set that to Admin also.

No-CD crack usually solves such issues... Gamecopyworld, megagames or something along those two.

I once used virtual cd app like daemon tool and loaded morrowind iso to solve this kind of error. Perhaps you could give it a try

Not even close. I have ALWAYS used a no-cd crack, 9 out of 10 times for a retail game i bought legit...

My retail collection is a life's passion and i keep all my discs in top, mint condition, as if they are brand new. No scratches or finger marks, only clean and crystal clear surface! I want to play something without having the CD/DVD always in, for that horrible, filthy driver to use constantly and always groan!

And for the umpteenth time, i am NO LONGER a pirate!
