I didn't get too many details from the dev, but the general sense of the response I got was that there is some additional work needed in preparing the DRM-free version for GOG. It may be another week or two, according to what they told me. A shame that, though to their credit they did intend a Day One release here, and it's good that they are addressing the problems before release instead of incurring a bunch of 1-star reviews about how broken the game is.

Hmm, thanks for the info. I am listening to the soundtrack on bandcamp and it's very pretty. I wonder if the soundtrack will be buyable through gog as well.

What about PS4, GOG, etc?
At the last minute, we decided to delay the GOG build until the Online mode goes out of "beta", to better-suit the nature of GOG.
Taking everything into account, this is the current release schedule for all of the remaining (confirmed) Moon Hunters platforms:
GOG.com: March 24th
Mac & Linux: March 31st
PS4: June-July
PSVita: August-September

There is an update on KS now that explains the delay. Basically it boils down to having the online mode ready for prime time. The targeted release date here is now March 24th.

That would be nice, or if they offered a deluxe version with the soundtrack as another purchase option.

Gah! That's not nice. Perhaps GOG can extend it in light of this revised date? Or maybe they're pitching it as a "pre-order only" discount.

T'is curious. I took it to mean that they are adding Galaxy-specific stuff, like achievements and so forth, but no one knows for sure but the devs.

Yes. You're probably right. They're probably talking about Galaxy multi-player or Galaxy co-op. It's like back in the day when the wanted to delay Divinity: Original Sin until Galaxy was ready.

I'm just kidding. I just got an email saying the sale will end on the 17th. I'm sure something will be worked out - I personally would buy it at full price from here. :)
