OldOldGamer: So, I've give GOG another chance to redeem itself with this "myster xxxx" that they comeup with.

I've bought two games, and I ended up with Brutal Legends and A golden Wake.

4£ thrown in the bin.

Can I ask refund for these?
Yes, you can ask for a refund whenever you wan't for any game you wan't as long as you didn't download it or play it as per paragraph 6.7, section D of gog user agreement. Off course this is only valid up to 30 days after purchase after that you are stuck with the game.

Come on, don't roll the damned dice if you don't like gambling and associated randomness.

tinyE: I'm going to get kill for this, but no one is forcing anyone to get these mystery games so can we all just put down the fucking violins?
I found bad words rude, totally stupid, fir retarded, unrducated and completely out of place (alo because tht post is a bit sarcastic).

I already stated that is my fault, so grab your totally useless post and go play A golden wake, I'll gift it to you.

Yeah I know you took responsibility friend, and I'm sorry about that sounding pointed, but my post was really directed at all of the threads regarding this.

Totally shithead move on my part putting it in this specific thread, and while the sentiment on my part stands, I have no excuse for the way it came off as attacking you. No sarcasm here. I apologize.

If someone shows me the part of the sales description where all participants are guaranteed to get a game that will blow their fucking mind, make them shit their pants, and orgasm all at the same time, then I will apologize for the above and never speak on the matter again.
^ this

But I have to admit that it always confuses me when tinyE is the voice of reason. ;-)

nah, you are right. Take a gamble - that's fine, but be a big boy about it. Don't like it? then don't participate.

Starmaker: This doesn't apply to mystery promos. There was a blue post to this effect.
avatar
HypersomniacLive: Was there? Because the FAQ states otherwise [emphasis added]:
Yes. I found this post, and I remember (but can't find) a thread someone made complaining about their refund request, in which a blue posted a denial of said request to the effect that "your 'I didn't want this game' doesn't hold water: you wanted a random game, you got a random game, deal with it".

Because they didn't emphasize "YES YOU CAN GET REFUNDS" but linked to the longstanding policy in this promo, I suspect its practical application hasn't changed, the random generation of a game from a mystery purchase counting as "activation" for the purposes of withdrawal.
It's gamble after all... cmon... that's how real world works, the house always wins. :P

Saying that... I can understand your pain... I never had luck to this kind of things that's why I don't play this "gog game" :P

The post you linked to says that refunds apply, even though that's not from the current sale. The FAQ is, and since their refund policy includes the clause blotunga quoted earlier, it really doesn't matter what the reason is - if one hasn't downloaded any content, they don't need a reason.

We seem to be disagreeing here, but I'm not sure over what.

OldOldGamer: Well, I suppose I should stop shelling money randomly.
Now you've got it.
I don't know why people complain i got The Witcher 3, Metal Gear Solid V, a PS4 and a hot lady makes me coffee every morning. For 12 bucks it's a steal.
OP,the Mystery Game is like a slot machine, sometimes you hit Jackpot; sometimes you get nothing.

My fault.
Yeah, next time pass it along to me and I'll use it to buy food.
What happens on GOG - stays on GOG!!!!
There is no appreciation for pure, dry, complaining :-(
I try to clean up for the less light harted.

I ll never going to ask a refund for games I bought this way, of course. I got the risk.

I was just pointing out that, no matter the real value of the mistey game, I continue to get games I dont like.

I could have received TW3, that I don t care about, while I could got Pool of Radiance beeing very happy.
