damien: Queen: the Eye might qualify under EA. I had contacted the developer and was told that the rights belong to EA (not the band Queen). Still might not be true though.

Microids: Secret Mission

http://www.mobygames.com/game/secret-mission-
Ok it says that Microids (which is part of Anuman now) developed Secret Mission but it was also a CD-I title and Phillips apparently also published the PC version
http://www.mobygames.com/game/dos/secret-mission-/cover-art/gameCoverId,61393/
Do you know if Microids defiantly got the rights back off them?
Thanks

Fever_Discordia: Hi damien, thanks for participating in my thread, good to see you!
Yeah, I think it would be still too inconsistent of me to include Queen: The Eye, seems like the soundtrack might still be an issue if nothing else, anyway

I'll have a look at Secret mission later
Cheers
Np. I think this list is a great idea. Will try to suggest more games when I have time
War Inc. - I'm not sure who owns the rights. It was published by Interactive Magic developed by Optik Software. It might belong to Enlight Software now since Capitalism and Seven Kingdoms also do (the latter two were developed by Enlight though, so might be different).

Here is another one:

Strategy First: Rails Across America

hunvagy: Also Cryo: Lost Eden, Dragon Lore I-II
Good suggestions. I pretty much owned and enjoyed everything Cryo made back in the day.

F4LL0UT: Oh yeah, got more:
Evil Twin (Ubisoft)
World in Conflict (originally published by Sierra, supposedly owned by Ubisoft now)
Will Rock (Ubisoft)
Sub Culture (Ubisoft)
Skull Caps (Ubisoft)
Silent Hunter series (originally I think by SSI, later by Ubisoft)
Action Soccer (Ubisoft)
Brothers in Arms series (Ubisoft)
Call of Juarez series (Ubisoft)

Yup, it's all Ubisoft. :P
Yep, that all checks out, added the whole lot thanks
Just added a note to say that Skullcaps is the sequel to Baldies published by Atari
Cheers

RaggieRags: Albion by Blue Byte

Cosmic Osmo and the Worlds Beyond the Mackerel by Cyan
Yep, Added Albion, assuming that Ubisoft has the rights to it now, they seem to have the rest of the Blue Byte Library
Cosmic Osmo had a sequel in 2007, published by someone else but still developed by part of Cyan so I hope they still have control and added 'Cosmic Osmo series'
Thanks

Valts007: Breath of Fire IV by Capcom, PC version from 2005.

Death to Spies series - 1C Company
Yep, they check out, added thanks
Also added the 1C Company Theatre of War series from the Indie Gala, There's loads more 1C stuff to go through too by the look of it...

Aridoom: The Sims from EA.
Jazz Jackrabbit from Epic.
OK I've fudged The Sims and the old Maxis games together into one, ugly entry
Jazz Jackrabbit series looks a bit dodgy publisher wise but I guess its more likely that Epic still have the rights squirreled away somewhere than some small, German shareware publisher from the early 90s so I added it, thanks!

hunvagy: Also Cryo: Lost Eden, Dragon Lore I-II

And if Commander Blood, then also the first game, Captain Blood.
RIGHT I've been looking into this - one of the publishers of Commander Blood was Mindscape, I checked the other Cryo games on GOG and found that MegaRace 2 was also originally published by Mindscape so it seems reasonable to assume they got all their rights back from there
There's another co-Publisher of Commander Blood called 'Microfolie's' which I cannot find any reference to on all the internets except for publishing Commander Blood (and some PC box seller with the same name from Lebanon (!)) so I'm guessing they're pretty small-time and safe to ignore

With Captain Blood, as I said before, the Cryo guys made it at ERE before they even founded Cryo and ERE went to Infogrames (Atari) but Cryo must have got the rights if they were allowed to make a sequel, right? But then I thought that maybe Commander is more a 'spiritual successor' like the whole BioShock / System Shock thing and is why its not just called Captain Blood 2 but looking at the game descriptions both the Captain and the Commander are avatars of a character called 'Bob Morlock' so it must be a proper sequel, right?
I added 'Captain Blood series' under Anuman
Oh, incidentally, did you know there was a 3rd in the series?
http://www.mobygames.com/game/big-bug-bang-le-retour-de-commander-blood
Who knew?

Dragon Lore checks out - the first was another Mindscapes published game and the 2nd was self published so I added that series too

I don't think I can add Lost Eden though because it was published by Virgin Interactive so may well have gone (Virgin - Titus - fuck knows) if Anuman even do anything with an old Cryo IP that was originally published by Virgin I'll assume they have the rights and add it but I don't think I will until then

Thanks!

Insane investigative work :D And oh well, at least we have Dragon Lore and maybe Captain and Commander Blood. Those are quite the rarity as far as I know.

Well according to Mobygames 'Interactive Magic' is the old name for 'iEntertainment Network' who have 3 games here on GOG already so I've added War Inc. under them - thanks

I wouldn't mind to see Slitherine Strategies games here also. Legion Arena for example pops into my mind...

I've got that (had to order it from Europe back in the day). It is literally the same game assets as Commander Blood, only with different dialogue and arranged in a different sequence, to give the illusion of a new story. Unbearably naff.

damien: How about microids games? Such as secret mission?
As I said before, Secret Mission was a CDi game that was actually published by Phillips for CDi and PC so I was concerned that the right might be still tied up with Phillips somehow - I have to look at the 'Publisher' line more than the 'Developer' in most instances
I suspected that Phillips might have just been the publisher of the CDi version but this is clearly a shot of the PC box with the Phillips logo (as well as Microids, admittedly) on it
http://www.mobygames.com/game/secret-mission-/cover-art/gameCoverId,61393/

I there's evidence that Microids/Anuman have the rights to this or other CDi games they may have made I'll add it but not before

Please feel free to suggest other Microids games though
Thanks
