FotisK: Every time when I try to open GOG, I get the error message "api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll missing".

I have googled everything "oh just install Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable!" but it doesn't install - gives an 0x80240017 error.

So what gives? I know there are others with the same problem, but no relevant topic had a real solution.

GOG was working fine until recently!

FotisK: I have tried it, that was #1 Google result. KB2999226 just fails to install, message "this update is not applicable to your computer". I am on Win 7 64bit, SP1. No idea what the problem is.

Run the vc_redist.x64.exe (64-bit) or vc_redist.x86.exe (32-bit) and select Uninstall
Run the .exe again and select Install

FotisK: Did that too, same error "0x80240017" message every time.

I am this close to just upgrading to windows 10 (with all the problems that will cause) just to fix GOG.
