2. Pinball FX3 - Marvel Pinball Avengers Chronicles (contains four tables: The Avengers, Fear Itself, The Infinity Gauntlet, and World War Hulk)

3. Pinball FX3 - Marvel Pinball: Heavy Hitters (contains three tables: Civil War, Venom and Deadpool)

4. Pinball FX3 - Star Wars Pinball (contains three tables: Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back, The Clone Wars, and Boba Fett)

6. Pinball FX3 - Star Wars™ Pinball: Heroes Within (contains four tables: Episode IV A New Hope, Droids, Han Solo, and Masters of the Force)

To enter, just list which packs you are interested in in order of preference, and answer this question: have you played real or virtual pinball before, and if you have, what is your favourite table?

Please submit your entries by end of Tuesday October 25 (midnight GMT), and I'll then raffle the packs among everyone who entered.

6) Pinball FX3 - Marvel Pinball: Heavy Hitters (contains three tables: Civil War, Venom and Deadpool)

I'm a big fan of Pinball Arcade and have been wanting a reason to get into Pinball FX 3. My favourite table is I think the Attack from Mars pinball table as it feels heavily goal based and you have to be a hero.

Attack from Mars is indeed great with its exaggerated scifi B-movie feel and constant huge scores ranging in millions per hit. Pinball Arcade overall is great, unfortunately the developer lost the Williams license some time ago, so the Williams tables including Attack from Mars are no longer available for it - most of them are now available for Pinball FX3 instead.
I'm interested in any of the Star Wars ones but I don't have an order of preference as I'd like to collect all of them at some point! And yes, I've played both real and virtual pinball (probably mostly virtual in the form of the game that came with WinXP). Not sure if I have a favorite table though, I just play it from time to time.

JakobFel: I've played both real and virtual pinball (probably mostly virtual in the form of the game that came with WinXP).
Space Cadet pinball! It was a modified single-table version of Full Tilt Pinball. It was removed from later Windows releases due to some bugs. It has enthusiasts, but apparently there have been license issues in bringing it back. However, there are fan remakes and remake projects available.
I'm old enough to have spotted some of those old machines with score reels, bells, and the like, back when pinball (or "flipper", as it's known in Italy) was still a familiar presence in bars, hotels, bathing establishments, as well as in proper arcades (when arcades still existed...) Target Alpha, for example.
There was something mesmerizing about those blinking lights, plastic targets, rubber pads etc. It was certainly a more "physical" experience compared to videogames.
I haven't played real pinball that often, though. I remember, as a kid, being pissed off for days after being badly beaten by a table (and Pac-Man). Which machine it was? I honestly can't remember.
Perhaps I once played Magic Castle by Zaccaria (an Italian firm based in Bologna). My memory is unclear.
As for virtual pinball, I have a faint impression of playing Video Pinball on the Atari 2600. Then many hours spent with Pinball Dreams on the Amiga (though not with Fantasies or Illusions). And of course Space Cadet on Windows. But I don't remember any pinball game from my C64 days.
Years ago, I was really into Visual Pinball (I tried Future Pinball as well, but liked the other better). I downloaded a lot of tables from specific sites like VPForums, all neatly organized with a front-end. I remember especially liking JP Salas' recreations. My favourites were Pharaoh, Bobby Orr Power Play, Attack From Mars, and others.
That said, I'm not in for the giveaway, as I'm not interested in the tables on offer and I don't think I'd play them much anyway. I wrote just to reminisce a bit about old times. Thank you for the giveaway.

That was the one! I was drawing such a hard blank on its name haha. I'll have to keep an eye out for remakes, just for nostalgia's sake!
Bump - still slightly over one day to join.
Thanks for the giveaway! I'm in. My order of preference is:

Marvel Pinball Heavy Hitters
Marvel Pinball Original pack
Marvel Pinball Heavy Hitters

I've been interested in pinball for a while, but somehow I have played only one physical table long ago.. South Park. I don't remember much from it apart from the Kenny. My co-worker also claims to have bought the last remaining Kenny head spare part sold by Sega. He has also told me a lot about the machines he used to own. I think the best design he showed me was Space Invaders by Bally. That backglass is breathtaking!

My favorite and most played virtual table by far is the digital remake of the classic Williams table Medieval Madness in Pinball FX3. Style, sound, humor, flow.. it just has everything. I also fondly remember Devil's Island. We had it installed on the family computer when I was younger. One of my first encounters with pinball. I should give it a install again.
To me Pinball is going back many years up to David's Midnight Magic
and the countless afternoons/weekends playing it with relatives

What form do you think it has? An elephant? An ape? koala? rodent? I never knew...

If the handlers were used too much, caused a "tilt" (stopped responding until the next ball)
Most of the fun: The competition and the emotions as result :)

Fun fact I remember: If the cartridge slot wasnt clean enough, the colors presented were like:
youtube.com/watch?v=xvh6DYJDkG8
I even remember getting it on black & white when frustration appeared making me
to fit the slot in certain pretty extreme specific angles...

Also arcade places used to have pinball machines (1 to 4),
but they were -excessively- expensive...
(Let's say if any regular arcade vgame was 1 coin, those things needed at least 6)
I guess to avoid wear and tear caused by hordes of curious inexperienced people like me :)
But their lights, sounds, sizes, materials, designs, bright & colors
without a doubt added ambience to the magic those places had. Good times!

I'm in for any table you offer. Thanks for the GA and the chance DiffuseReflection!
Good luck to all!
I don't recall that I often went to the Spielothek when I was young. Probably I just didn't have enough
money to fritter away in this kind of video arcade gambling halls. But we had a good alternative.
At that time there were (one or two) small slot machines or a pinball machine in many pubs. You could
drink your beer, talk to the people, play a little bit, drink the next beer, play again ...

Nowadays the pubs are replaced by taverns or public houses where the people meet to eat
something. No room anymore for a Flipper machine, and certainly not for a ninepins alley.
And buying a physical pinball machine for your home seems to be quite expensive.

I prefer to see the whole table in digital pinball games. Epic Pinball has some good tables
(especially the Android one), but I dislike that you can see only a part of the table ( the ball
should move, not the entire screen). Hence the digital table I played most is Pro Pinball Timeshock.

Thanks for the opportunity to take part here. My order of preference is like so:
1) Pinball FX3 - Marvel Pinball Avengers Chronicles
2) Pinball FX3 - Star Wars™ Pinball: Balance of the Force
3) Pinball FX3 - Star Wars™ Pinball: Heroes Within
4) Pinball FX3 - Marvel Pinball Original Pack
5) Pinball FX3 - Star Wars™ Pinball
6) Pinball FX3 - Marvel Pinball: Heavy Hitters
Memories keep coming in... speaking of "virtual" pinball, I remember I played with "Miracle Pinball", an LCD pinball game by Casio that doubled as a calculator. You can see it in action here.
I liked it a lot. But I have no idea how it ended up in my home.
And I had this as well... does it count? :)

It's amazing how much versatility LCD gaming had. And I had heard of pinball adaptations of Transformers the movie, but this is the first I've seen a pinball that is itself a transformer robot! Thank you for the fun memories cose_vecchie!

2D computer pinball games suffered from the fact that most screens of the time were horizontal and couldn't accommodate the entire playfield, thus scrolling was inevitable. Still, Epic Pinball was fun. By the way, Epic Pinball and the Pro Pinball games (Timeshock, Fantastic Journey, and Big Race USA) are available on GOG too.

Surprisingly good fluid ball motion in that video! The narrator claimed the table layout looks like the Williams pinball table Black Knight, and there definitely are some similarities to the Black Knight layout although I don't know if I would call it a copy. Fun game anyway!

Five hours left for anyone still wishing to join the giveaway.
I'm interested in:
(I don't have an order of preference because I haven't played virtual pinball yet but I'd like to try.)
-Pinball FX3 - Marvel Pinball Original Pack
-Pinball FX3 - Marvel Pinball Avengers Chronicles
-Pinball FX3 - Star Wars Pinball: Balance of the Force
-Pinball FX3 - Star Wars Pinball: Heroes Within
