So MicroSoft is officially partnered with gog.com, why is this not news?

I knew MicroSoft would eventually partner with gog.com I been saying it for like four years.

Here you go read.

So you can basically use Microsoft's games as a service system through GoG Galaxy. It's a start but I'm not interested in that personally. Now if MS released some games on GoG DRM-free that would be something to celebrate.

But getting exposure on a rival's platform, it's no wonder MS didn't want to pass that up.
Hmm doesn't sound good at all, give us some games and keep that sub crap away.

Partner or Microsoft outright bought them out hush hush?
No wonder we never got witcher 3 on Linux and Cyberpunk 2077 is win10 only. Good job Marcin good job /clap clap for selling out. Just remember. If cyberpunk2077 or any other game is windows 10 only; you cannot claim DRM FREE store any longer since you cannot have windows10 offline for an extended period of time. Windows 10 Is: DRM

Edited.

That's how GOG fell. Congratulations for all your pillars have just crumbled. Welcome to the Big Leagues!!

Lost your costumer.
Part of your statement is true. But if Microsoft decides to make the next Windows always online, how will you use the GOG installers if you can no longer use Win7 or other OS?
Do you still play GOG games on WinXP ?

EDIT: I play GOG games on Win10 on my laptop. Never had the need to use the net to install or play them. They work fine so far (at least until now, that is).

Sure you can. I have a Win10 laptop that's been offline since 2015 and it still works fine.

As much as I dislike MS, they have made some really great games over the years.

I for one would love to see 3D Movie Maker come here.

What a total nonsensical load of rubbish. Windows 10 does not require an internet connection to remain functional. You don't even need an internet connection to activate the OS, you can do it by phone/text if needed.

I have had a system that has been offline for an extended period of time - I use it for emulation and its probably been around 2/3 years without internet connectivity and its still fully functional.

While gaming on Linux has come a long way it is still a ball ache at times so I am not surprised CDPR didn't bother with a Linux version of W3

I personally have Win XP, Win Vista and Win 7 running in virtual machines. Obviously newer more advanced games won't run like that, but it'll be a while before I run out of games to play.

Is it possible to have a DRM-Free UWP?

This at least confirms Microsoft games will integrate into the library well (especially install is the crucial one imo)

Is that why gog didn't make a new character for the summer sale? Lack of costumes?
So, does that mean these games will get a 'normal' release here as well? Because if not, that's a fairly massive departure from the principle that all games on GOG must be DRM-free. If it is, OTOH, that would be great news (and I have heard rumours that Microsoft are thinking about bringing more of their games to GOG). Waiting to hear more details before I make a judgement.
This cross-client stuff is as interesting as watching UK gray sky.

Bring more games...
