EDIT: NO pointless rambling about how Windows 10 is a DRM'd (is it?) spying bot (is it) that has poor compatibility or whatever on this thread. This thread was NOT created for that purpose, there are other threads that are happily willing to take your Windows 10 criticism, but not this one. Do we agree? Okay.
----

Its as the title says. I don't know if you Windows 8 and 8.1 users can get it, but for those on Windows 10, they can get the albums mentioned in this article for free. EDIT: You should be able to take advantage of this offer on Android as well.

http://www.pcworld.com/article/3014435/data-center-cloud/microsoft-gives-windows-10-users-10-free-full-music-albums-for-the-holidays.html

Of course, I know, you have concerns regarding these albums. They should be DRM-free and playable with Groove Music, VLC and Windows Media Player, perhaps they'll be able to play on my car's stereo too.

The album selection includes for those wondering:
•Alabama Shakes, Sound & Color
•James Bay, Chaos and The Calm
•Big Sean, Dark Sky Paradise
•Breaking Benjamin, Dark Before Dawn
•Alessia Cara, Know It All
•Selena Gomez, Revival
•Ellie Goulding, Delirium
•Jeezy, Church In These Streets
•Logic, The Incredible True Story
•Tame Impala, Currents

It's simply hilarious how desperate they are trying to get people to upgrade from Win7 and Win8.
When will they start giving people money to lure them into their big remote controlled, data mining botnet called Win10?

For some reason they don't seem to care about getting the people back that switched to Linux though.
I guess we are "lost cases" for those corporate mofos.
Give me a DRM free Windows with an easy to use repository, with good backwards compatibility and without data mining and I maybe (just maybe) switch back.

Congratulations for the most pointless post of the day! Seriously, the music is all DRM-free. Download it, and switch back to Windows 3.0 or ditch it, or don't even get the giveaway at all. I don't care. Just don't litter my threads with pointless Windows 10 rambling, okay? You GOGlytes had fun making fun of it in other threads (and probably still do), but please not this one, just talk about the offer itself instead.

calm down..
nobody cares about drm here anyway, so, fuck it.
The album selection includes:

Alabama Shakes, Sound & Color
James Bay, Chaos and The Calm
Big Sean, Dark Sky Paradise
Breaking Benjamin, Dark Before Dawn
Alessia Cara, Know It All
Selena Gomez, Revival
Ellie Goulding, Delirium
Jeezy, Church In These Streets
Logic, The Incredible True Story
Tame Impala, Currents
Hmmm...nope, I don't want a single one of those. Well, that was easy :)

...
fixed
how is Ellie Goulding, are the albums worth it, since i have no idea about windows 10, i am bit confused on how you will get access to download those music, is it similar to googleplay or just having edge explore does the job

Not sure about Ellie, basically I'm downloading the album. Oh, and I'll be updating the available information. You can apparently get the albums on Android too via the Groove Music app.

As on Windows 10's method, you'll open these links and they'll automatically open the store. Click the "Free" button and Groove Music will download the album for you to Music\Purchases, and there you can do whatever the hell you want with your albums. On Android, I don't know really.
(warning: slightly irrelevant question approaching)
Is it just impossible to find music from the Beatles anymore? It seems like every streaming service I look up, none of 'em have it.

Hmm, does it have to be a streaming service? On a note, I searched for Beatles on Amazon and I think I've relevant results to see.

That was my first thought as well -- "Here's some free stuff, now won't you try out our new OS, pretty please?" Hah hah.

There's that, too. :P

But I'll give OP a +1 anyway, since the offer might be interesting to some folks here.

Well, if I wanted to just buy the CD or vinyl, that'd be simple (I live in California, everybody and their cat is a hipster here). However, if I want to stream it, it seems like Apple records just refuses to strike a deal with anybody. Same goes for Prince, although he has good reason for being paranoid of the music industry.
No metal? Meh. Will stay on linux then...

Thanks, saves me opening the page to look at it, none of those are of interest to me.

Awful. Don't let her wailing assault your ears.
