This isnt really major news. Unless they start building brand and new games. THis kind of stuff happens all the time in game industry. So far this seems like Bethesdas story conitnues at MS, until MS decide to sell them to some else, for less, that is. , and makes maybe couple billion.

Come on man, it's major news. Maybe its impact on PC gamers isn't earth shattering at the moment, but it's a massive shakeup in the industry as a whole and hugely relevant to console gamers.

If they start building somekind of global gaming brand, that mght add value and be indeed big news. That WOULD shake the industry.

That's the last tiny chance of Skyrim for Linux going *poof*.

I hope Microsoft would consider making their games available here on GoG. To improve their public image and all that. Wishful thinking. Probably won't happen.

Maybe for say older titles if they signed a deal w/ GOG - sure, those could come to GOG from Microsoft. That would make tons of sense for those who like "owning" their games - and might help Microsoft get an audience (i.e. the DRM-FREE club and game-owning/archiving club) that want to own their games.

And by that time when a really old Microsoft game launches on GOG, it's likely that older games ain't super-duper pricey and piracy won't be really issue there b/c those games likely will be cheap enough for many to buy.

Expensive new games be the problem w/ brand-new $60 (base-game) to $120 games (with Expansions, Season Pass, etc) - which have DRM, anti-tamper DRM, online-only requirements, and other garbage attached to it, as they are hoping these things make you just go buy the game - which is why I think a lot of these dev's and pub's just don't bring stuff to GOG b/c of the DRM-FREE requirement that's here. Companies like Microsoft and all of them are trying to protect their games...or make it at least look and be perceived that they're protecting their stuff.

Plus, then...they (dev's and pub's) could get a double-dip on some games for those impatient gamers (like myself) that they don't remove DRM on with other versions (like say from retail, Steam, UPlay etc) and try to re-sell them without DRM on GOG.

At the least, I really see Microsoft sticking a lot of their older titles on Game Pass to boost the catalogue & the reasons to subscribe to Game Pass.

But, for newer titles: they're trying to really sell gamers on Game Pass, so...I really doubt many of the newer stuff would come to GOG anytime soon.

I dont get it, why MS needs to think about their public image, its not like they are going somewhere. I didnt also get why Google's Stadia was so hated. Are MegaCorps next "cool to hate" thing? Back tin the days people used to hate EA, but it seems they are moving to MegaCorps.

CDPR gotta earn game industry's respect, thats wha is up. One semi-success series doesnt make you badass.

Maybe they will finally release Skyrim for GOG. I've been waiting 8 years to play it DRM-free.

Many who had Stadia, had issues with it. They didn't really perfect the game-streaming service thing.

At least Steam and Epic: some of their games are DRM-Free and can work in offline mode. Which also means, games that allow for it: I can store these game files locally and also mod them, if need be.

Game-streaming from their servers should be an extra OPTION for gamers (especially those on-the-go), NOT a requirement to play.

EDIT:
Also, IIRC - Borderlands 3 was out-of-date on Stadia on some point, when compared to that other version that was on Epic....meaning, Stadia version needed to get their file and be updated, too. They were behind. (Not sure if they still aree).

Lack of support from dev's/pub's and/or Google with Stadia titles doesn't help matters either.

I'd expect GOG to sell Xbox for PC Games, as that is their new app for buying PC games and subbing to Game Pass via Windows 10.
