HunchBluntley: No, "PC" means
any personal computer. Despite how some companies (and individuals) may still use the term, Macs and systems running Linux are PCs just as much as machines that ship with Windows. I always detested the old, stupid marketing-based logic that led to IBM-compatibles alone being labeled as "PCs", while, mysteriously, Amigas, Macs and others were not, and I'm glad that that particular bit of terminology stupidity has mostly died.
I was repeating what it means to the world, not to me. To me, it means "Personal Computer", and, given that I went from Amiga to Linux (I've never used MS operating systems as anything but a means to launch games), I obviously agree with the first part of your statement. However, you must be living in a different world if you believe that "that particular bit of terminology stupidity" has done anything but become worse in the last decade or so. "PC vs Mac vs Linux" is what I hear all the time, not "Windows vs. MacOS vs. Linux".
