Pouyou-pouyou: Microprose is back the same way Origin is ?

I mean, the name might be the same, but will it be the same people behind ? I doubt it...

Original co-founder "Wild Bill" Stealey has also signed on as a consultant to advise the new CEO.
Its all in the OPs links and even already mentioned in this thread oO

But regardless of that I agree to the sentiment which I assume boils down to "talk is cheap".

edit:
first bad impression: tied to a well known exclusive hogging platform.

I am sceptical of these name resurrections. Sierra was resurrected for a while not so long ago, but nothing substantial ever came of it. But then again, that was more of a greedy money grab attempt from Activision.
Hopefully we'll FINALLY get Return Of The Phantom here.

Microprose made 3 adventure games - Return Of The Phantom, Dragonsphere, and Rex Nebula.
Dragonsphere, and Rex Nebula are already here, so there's really no reason why Return Of The Phantom shouldn't be.

Is "Return of the Phantom" in any way directly linked to the trademark "Phantom of the Opera"? Licenced music from the musical or something? That would explain, why it completely went under and never surfaced again.

It's a variation on the Phantom Of The Opera story, with some major changes.
But the music is completely different.

It's a fantastic game! ( :
Now to bring back big boxes
I never understood the fanboyism of companies they change over time drastically fe Blizzard.
Here it is just a name nothing else from the old company, so why should i be excited at all?
Sea Power looks amazing in my opinion

Because the games they are working on look great. The name is mostly irrelevant, but it does show that they are targeting the same audience as the old Microprose. I suspect that is reason why they choose to be MicroProse. I think they are making a statement, and not just trying to use the old name to generate buzz.
MicroProse need to make some new adventure games.
They've already made 3, back in the day, but the need to expand that. ( :
This should be interesting, I hope this goes well for them. I wish we could see this happen with Interplay; too bad inXile and Obsidian were purchased by Micro$oft. It'd be so awesome to see the old Interplay make a comeback.

I know they're still around but I meant that I'd love to see someone buy the name from Herve Caen and actually run it the way it deserves to be. Then, they could have merged inXile and Obsidian into the mix to bring the original team back on board and revive the golden age of Interplay.
I've already tweeted with Publisher, at the moment they look to be Steam only, though they are exploring GoG, so we'll see if their games ever come here.
