NoNewTaleToTell: I'm listening to the title track of Quiet Riot's Metal Health album, what a song and what an album. Quiet Riot is one of the 80s bands that catches a lot of flack but they released some great albums and Kevin DuBrow (while not having the best range) had one of the most unique and powerful voices in that scene. One thing that stands out about that album compared to its contemporaries is just how full and solid it sounds sonically. I heard that Frankie FINALLY has the documentary ready to come out, it's only been how many years since it was first announced?
darthspudius: Great band. They had a fantastic front man, back when heavy metal singers could actually sing! Though it is always a bit sad to see them taking Slade's thunder haha.
Yeah, though I'm sure Slade appreciated the royalty checks! I always liked the story about nobody in Quiet Riot wanting to cover Cum On Feel The Noize, with Kevin going to a burger joint while they were laying down the basic tracks.
Edit: Have you heard their pre-Metal Health albums, the two they did with Randy Rhodes, before Frankie was in the band? Talk about sounding like Slade...
