I've found myself enjoying metal remixes of retro game soundtracks.
Aki Järvinen does a fantastic job making some great music.

Just a heads up for any UK Pantera fans (or those who may be here at the time),
My colleagues at FRANTIC! and Gibsons bar are putting a 101%Pantera gig on for free December 12th - along with a late bar, and one of the UKs most celebrated live metal DJs.
The event is to mark the 10 year anniversary of the loss of probably the worlds best guitarist; Dimebag Darrel.
Apprently 101%Pantera are not only spot on, but actually endorsed as well - more details on the FB event (not need for an account to see). https://www.facebook.com/events/544654192332038
Figured there would be plenty of you who may fancy it - maybe even already planning to be in the York area for Christmas shopping or some bollocks. If you're there - I'll be at the bar behind the giant with one leg. Inabit! :)

Its nothing to do with bandwidth, just its a pisspoor site. I can stream from other sites no problem. Just Youtube and its intrusive (bordering on DRM) arsiness is the issue.

The Nuclear Blast newsletter introduced me to this Swedish band:
AVATARIUM - All I Want
AVATARIUM - Moonhorse
heavy metal, doom metal, female vocals
Lovin' what I'm hearing, ordered the first album and the new EP. >:)

Since someone was mentioning it earlier, here's a progressive metal band I listen to that recently got a female singer with growing vocals. I can't say I like it too much, but she's not bad... for a girl.
