I've been trying to get into metal a bit more of lately, especially into the darker heavier bits of it...
Can someone shoot a few bands? My elder brother has shot me quite a few suggestions, of which I like Children of Bodom, Al Namrood, Craddle of Filth, Morbid Angel and Burzum best?

Death, Emperor, Sodom, Testament, Slayer, Sepultura, Pantera, Opeth, Dimmu Borgir, My Dying Bride, Meshuggah, Amon Amarth, Moonspell, Immortal, Kreator, Nevermore.. so many bands out there, it's hard to catch up!

Been listening to Borknagar's Winter Thrice lately, and I'm very impressed. Amazing comeback after a chain of mediocre albums imho.

Since Bolt Thrower aren't touring and will probably never release a new album, would anyone here know a band whose music feels exactly alike? Given, for most Death Metal sounds like Death Metal, I however have been unable to find a substitute.
