zeogold: Well, on the bright side, this is probably the most activity I've gotten and ever will get on one of my posts. Maybe I'll get some rep out of it, who knows.

seleapi: I'm tempted to give you -1
How I didn't see that coming from a mile away, I'll never know.
You seriously need to let go of this fixation you have with rep.

Some of the greatest people here are in the negative.

Oh? I assumed the negative people were pushed into that because they were spammers or scammers or trolls or something. I did say I was new here, mind you.

seleapi: I'm new but i have nothing to say.
Ah so youre also married?

Actually many were pushed there by the scammers and trolls. That's logic for you :D

Anyway, you just need to hang around, see upeople derail threads, make giveaways and insult others over not being politacally correct/incorrect enough, and you'll figure out who's who on your own. And besides, I shudder to think what others would tell you about me. At best they'd probably call me a cheap knock-off of TinyE :P

It's much easier to give and take away points from a person's "virtual" reputation than it is to confront them and resolve their differences in either a public forum (civilly) or private messages.

OneFiercePuppy is not a scammer. Neither is apehater, or stg83, or l0rdtr3k, just to name a few. They are at a negative, as I will eventually be, because of scammers, not because they are scammers.

Ninjad! :P

Do forgive my obnoxious ignorance, but...."ninjad"? What is that supposed to mean?
I actually think it's quite interesting that the real maelstrom started around the time The Witcher 3 was released and many individuals purchasing the game signed up on GOG.

That, coupled with the release of GOG Galaxy (still evolving), seemed to have opened the floodgates for many people who didn't have access to these forums. Some for better, some for worse.

I hope that those visiting because of their purchase of Witcher 3 would look around the catalog and buy some games. :)

And here I was hoping you'd pull out a ninja sword and you two would start dueling it out. I'm slightly disappointed.

I have no witcher 3 (it's in my wishlist though). I have signed to give you the pleasure of my presence.
No thanks needed.

I wouldn't want to watch Seppuku here, the color scheme is depressing enough.

Some of them are. Many of them are not. I'd suggest giving people the benefit of the doubt (not necessarily to the point of trading with them or anything with potential risk) until you have had time to form your own judgment based on their post content.

This is a pretty freewheeling place. It drives some new arrivals crazy that after seven years, we still only have "General Discussion" and specific game subforums---so General Discussion is one giant hodgepodge. Threads on books and movies, the semiofficial "drunk thread", people mourning the loss of family members, giveaways, the Forum Mafia game, they're all going on at once in here.

Think of General Discussion as the GOG Pub. Grab a glass of whatever liquid you prefer, find a chair, watch the banter fly for a while and chime in on whatever conversation interests you.

Did you sign up in the "Secret Santa" thread? If I happen to get picked with your name, I'll make sure to give your choice priority among your other wishlist items.

The good thing to note is that conversations are 'categorized', so at least you have a choice in which thread one will participate and know you can create your own if it doesn't follow any already there. It also doesn't hurt to take a peek in on other threads to know if you should or shouldn't be there.
