I thought someone here might like the chance to replay these oldies. They were added to Steam last night. Looking forward to re-playing Shogun.

Shogun

Medieval
wish they were here
Also, Space Siege is now available in my hole (errr...part) of the world.
They look so old and dated and probably does not play well.

"Looks at modern total war games"

Never mind I think these games have more polish than Rome 2.

okay, I was not looking to start a "they should be on GOG thread". Just wanted to point it out to old players like myself.

They look dated but they played like most of the other Total War games with the very old fashioned controls. Very playable if you have patience :P

Have not gotten around playing the total war games I do have (Empire and Medieval II)

TOO MANY GAMES IN MY LIBRARY!!

And I am on a Star Trek vacation.
I have many times contemplated about getting Total War: Grandmaster Collection.. Too bad it lacks Rome 2... and that I have a huge backlog...

If you can use the controls of Medieval two you should be fine. Just think of it as a more primitive version. Shogun is a great game, fantastic art style. But in my opinion the sequel improved on it and is the best in the series.

Shogun

Medieval
Weird.
I always thought they had been available on Steam right from the start (I don't know because I don't have a Steam account).
Why did they only put those games for sale now? Maybe because they already had Medieval TW 2 and Shogun 2?
Anyone know if the low resolution fix here works or is already applied to the Steam versions?

In any case, i'm starting to think the long delayed Enigmatic Hint may be Sega and some of the Total War games.

Good question, one I cannot answer. Either way it's quite interesting to see where the games originally came from. Pretty ground breaking stuff back then.

My opinion as well.

I agree. I've finished Medieval Total War 2 years ago and the game still hold pretty well by 2013 standards.

If anyone never played any TW game they can enjoy Shogun or Medieval 1 without any problems. Specially if they have old PCs.

Going back to Shogun from Shogun 2 is quite a fall though lol. Trying to get use to using arrow keys again was a nightmare.
