I was just going to check out the Genesis Alpha One store page when I got this "mature content" warning. That's the first time I've ever seen this, so I assume this is new? *shrug*

Probably hanks to those Germans and their list. Was discussing it on the sleeping dogs thread and that is not available there as it’s 18, and gog have no vetting system, and I suggested they have the checkbox like steam where you say you are 18 or over, as that’s foolproof. Looks like they listened to me and added the most pointless feature ever.

Yeah, seems to be like that for many games now (e.g. S.T.A.L.K.E.R).
Really pointless. I hope it stays at this minor annoyance and they don't eventually implement some sort of age-verification through ID or something similar.

I highly doubt that, not one store has such a 'feature'...yet. :P
They'd probably lose a large part of their customer base.

Youtube.
It sells video rentals / streaming. It is a store.

I don't know, German ID cards now come with all those online-features (which I haven't activated for my new ID card, since I don't want to give government agencies more power to track me), so wouldn't be hard to implement such a feature for the sake of protecting youths from dangerous media.
But I agree, it wouldn't make sense for Gog from a business perspective unless the legal situation changes drastically.

Sorry, should have clarified I meant gaming platforms like UPlay, Origin, Steam and the like. :)
Oh, hey.

They finally put up a beaded curtain. Bout' time.
perhaps Germans will now be able to purchase some titles they've been missing out on

... or so the Germans would have us believe

They would definitely have to do something like that for Agony and Succubus.

Highly doubt that. For that they'd have to implement real age verification, not something every 5-year-old can easily circumvent.

Btw, I don't see any mature content warning when I go to the Genesis Alpha One Store page ...

Me neither, but that warning popped up when I opened the STALKER pages.

For me it only popped up with Cyberpunk 2077 and never again after that. Maybe it just pops up once if you have an account on GOG?

Probably, just acknowledge it once like over at Steam and you're good to go.
Strange, i have never seen that.
