Zak Penn has indicated that his new Matrix film, which was announced early last year, will explore more of what the popular franchise’s universe has to offer.

In an interview with Screen Rant, Penn talked about his desire to see The Matrix brought back. “I’ve been working on Matrix right now. Which is in… a phase right now. That’s a franchise I desperately want to see brought back and, I can’t go in to too much detail, but I’ve been harassing Warner Bros. for years to try to get it going again so that’s one thing I’m working on, and I’ve been working on a bunch of other things too.”
Yeah, because that's what we need - The Matrix Awakens :P

The first matrix was really good, the other two were meh at best. This probably won't even live up to those two.

This sounds like a visionary who wants to share his fan fiction.
>Matrix Fan Fiction the movie.

Please no.
Just looked through his filmography, he isn't exactly a talented writer/ director. No need to get your hopes up regarding a (good) Matrix movie.

Desperate for money would have been honest.
I do hope this fails as I'm up to my neck of attempts at booting up "cinematic universes".

I guess he's a perfect replacement for Wachowskis then.

EDIT: Wait, wait, wait. The guy has Last Action Hero and X-Men 2 under his belt. Those are great movies. I take the above comment back.

Okay, okay, he did a great job with Last Action Hero but my point stands for the rest of his movies.

Followed by "The Last Matrix", then "The Matrix Rebooted", then "The Matrix Reconstituted", then "The Matrix Regressed", then "The Matrix Renovations", so on and so on for infinity.

Just think about what a wonderful world it would be if all that time and money was put to making more "Bill and Ted" movies.

So very few movies actually speak to the real me. That is one of them.
