[This is a sticky post, it will be visible in every single page of this thread. It has been published in October 2020.]

Our moderation team decided not to take a side in the discussion since this giveaway thread was created by the community and, as long as there are no forum rules violated, is up to you, dear Gogers, to decide its fate. We will not set giveaway rules, edit the OP's post, nor lock the whole thread.

However, to make it easier for newcomers to understand the situation (about the OP being inactive and other), I will stick my own post right above the first one.

You are, of course, free to create new threads to start anew and make your own, clear rules. At the same time, please stay reasonable when crating them, as multiple new duplicates might make it even more confusing for many Gogers.

That being said, here you can find a post with dxenija's community poll to have better understanding of the situation: CLICK.

At the time of writing, open giveaway threads are:
- Massive Giveaways Blog (this one)
- Free (temporary) keys giveaway central topic.
- Updated Itch.io giveaways

Be nice to each other *flies away*

TurdFerguson87: I am currently super not sure if Half-Life Deathmatch: Source is also subsequently attached. I'm certain that was part of getting Episode One back in the day, and would guess that hasn't changed unless it's not part of this thing specifically.
It's not.

Thanks. Yes, it wasn't there before, I checked. After your posting I checked again, and now it's in my library.

Unfortunately Beholder from EGS is not DRM-free. Starting the game without an internet connection (offline) directly from the exe file (Beholder.exe) with or without the usual parameters starts the game and shows a logo but then exits the game.

Well, finally (at least for those who don't already have it)!

See, I had Episode One over a decade ago and at some point, the stipulation was that if you had either Half-Life: Source or Half-Life 2: Episode One, you got Deathmatch Source. Since I already had it, I had figured that was worth consideration so I had mentioned it (unless some rule precludes that game), since somehow it was without mention everywhere I looked over. Glad to see that was actually rectified retroactively and that in fact it's still the same deal. A little late, but still does sweeten the deal for those who got Half-Life 2!

Bridgekeeper: Unfortunately Beholder from EGS is not DRM-free.
Currently, the game is having issues in the first place that the developers are aware about, so the DRM issue is still up in the air. I did find a way which supposedly bypasses the wrapper (FWIW, the Steam version does NOT have this wrapper), but past that point, the game does not start. Any other further DRM removal attempts crashes the game.

Also, FWIW, I have found that what the PCGW article says about the DRM on the Steam version is not a method that works anymore. However, it can still be DRM-free without any of that. It just works in a really peculiar way.

Update: They fixed the wrapper issues, so the game runs now! DRM - also peculiar. You don't need the EGS launcher running. You do need an internet connection and you need to sign in. Fortunately, the sign-in process is painless since you only ever need to do it once per profile. So, internet is really your DRM at this point, if you count that.

If anyone is wondering about Half-Life 2, just add the skip intro video fix to the method already described in the wiki.

I'm guessing Fantasy Gangbang might be one of them. : )

I have updated my post.

Can you start the game without an internet connection? If yes some hints would be appreciated.
