[This is a sticky post, it will be visible in every single page of this thread. It has been published in October 2020.]

Our moderation team decided not to take a side in the discussion since this giveaway thread was created by the community and, as long as there are no forum rules violated, is up to you, dear Gogers, to decide its fate. We will not set giveaway rules, edit the OP's post, nor lock the whole thread.

However, to make it easier for newcomers to understand the situation (about the OP being inactive and other), I will stick my own post right above the first one.

You are, of course, free to create new threads to start anew and make your own, clear rules. At the same time, please stay reasonable when crating them, as multiple new duplicates might make it even more confusing for many Gogers.

That being said, here you can find a post with dxenija's community poll to have better understanding of the situation: CLICK.

At the time of writing, open giveaway threads are:
- Massive Giveaways Blog (this one)
- Free (temporary) keys giveaway central topic.
- Updated Itch.io giveaways

Be nice to each other *flies away*

JakobFel: I understand if it was some shady or less-known games store but Humble is extremely well-known and reliable.
Fairly certain they've been the subject of (at least) one data breach in the past, and it took them longer to admit to that than it should have.

With this GOG account link stuff, I think the bigger worry should be GOG potentially doing a Connect-esque rug pull on users if they request the disconnect from Humble support. It could give them cause to revoke any game(s) redeemed through that method.

I doubt we'd have to worry about that. The only time they've actually threatened to do that (at least, to my knowledge) is with the recent Children of Morta promo and I could totally understand why they'd do that. Humble, on the other hand, would be the one I'd worry more about.. but even then, I doubt it'd happen.

Hey mate, my opinion is that you should stop posting this type of posts, I don't think a lot of people are interested, also the games that they provide is really cheap and this particular is banned from Steam. It's kind worst of itch.io that was banned from here.

I guess will see and the opinions of others for what I say...thanks.

IDK, but personally, Gamehag is the worst run site I've ever visited.

PixelBoy: Not true.

All of those freebie games are games that you must usually pay to play, just search them on Steam, none of them is free there.

Freebies vs. showcase is somewhat illogical and confusing, but even there you can clearly see which games are freeware and which are giveaways. Freeware has the publisher name listed under the game title, but freebies have "galaFreebies" as publisher, not the actual publisher name. It doesn't make much sense, but they are clearly different from the rest.

TurdFerguson87: First of all, I'm not comparing to Steam.

All the stuff on the Showcase page are all free. That's my main focus. This would make the Freebies page a glorified advertisement/gallery page for games that are actually already archived on Showcase, which is why even when you've obtained the games through the Freebies page, it shows up on the "Showcase" section on your library. They're not really giveaways, so this doesn't make sense to end up on this thread for it.

Games could be on multiple platforms and the scheme could be different, but my main point was that Indiegala maintains a freebies page while they're actually games which have been free for apparently all this time on that platform. If you're searching on Steam and they're not free, then you're talking about a different platform that Indiegala doesn't control the pricing in that context.
While your assumption could seem as true - and I DEFINETLY blame Indie Gala for enhancing that False assumption, Especially by creating these two (actually 4!) very confusing pages, There is in fact a very DEFINIT difference between them I'll clear out:

1. Freebies(1) is the list of the CURRENTLY available Freebies.
- During a limited time frame, One can add these to ones "Library" and / or download directly from each Freebie respected page.

2. Freebies(2) is a direly long list (I gave up checking it on page 10, so no idea how long it actually is), that Mostly lists demos
- But some are actually complete products that their owners chose to share for free on Indie Gala for their own reasons).
- Potentially one can add these titles to own Showcase, similarly to how a Freebie is presented, though these will probably stay on that list forever and always be free.

3. Showcase(1) in the general site, Supposedly* lists all PREVIOUS Freebies and a couple of other ALWAYS FREE titles (and some demo versions) that were never listed as a Freebie.
- Every now and then a Freebie titles loses its ability to get downloaded from there, usually until it gets again listed as Freebie and thus the Download option should once again be available from the respected Freebie page, Freebies(1) & Showcase(1).

4. Showcase(2) in your own account is only reachable by Moving the cursor over your user and choosing "My library" > then choosing Showcase. Lists only titles specifically added by the user to own "Library".
- Unlike one might assume, NOT all titles are available to be downloaded from their respected pages reachable from ones list.
- BUT, every title in that list is available for download from the user Showcase page itself! That's the only way to "save" a download option for a Freebie.
Unfortunately, there is no search in this list and it is very hard to locate anything there as the list is not entirely Chronological either.
At least it is somewhat better than before the site Re-Design, where it didn't even have proper pagination mechanics...

* I'm not sure it is all though. MY showcase list spans 30 pages with 8 titles per page = 240~ titles.
General site Showcase lists 97 items, as clearly shown under besides the pagination on that page.
I hardly doubt I added over 100 titles that were NOT presented as freebies
