If you look at the opening post the rules for this topic are very simple and very straightforward and they do NOT say anything about "no discussions". I understand why some people would prefer it if only links are posted and I absolutely agree that off-topic-posts (or even on-topic-posts that aren't actual news) can be enervating if they get out of hand - but that doesn't change the fact that there's no prohibition of discussions in this topic at all!

After all, this is a discussion forum and I am sure there are other places where one can find just the links without any discussions (eg. https://isthereanydeal.com/ ).

If you severely abuse this forum's rep system by downrepping people for using this forum for its intended purpose, you are violating this forum's TOS and creating a highly toxic environment which is driving people away. If what you're looking for is a list of game giveaways with no discussions about them, go create that list yourself. That is not what this thread has ever been, nor what it has ever been intended to be.

Well said, i fully support wat u said. This IS a discussion forum, no where has it been mentioned that NO discussion are allowed & even then, there is NO stopping any1 fr saying things in any forum threads here. Some of us may hv some comments which may invariably derail threads @ times also but it in no way affects any1. That being said, we shd of cos refrain fr overly derailing a thread which has a specific purpose till it becomes like spam.

If any1 who does not like or wish 2 c a particular post, they r always welcome 2 not read it. Any1 who simply abuse rep by anyhow pressing the downvote button w/o able 2 explain or engage in a civil manner r lowlife trolls.

I myself hv been on receiving end of such actions b4 but rep does not mean anything 2 me as all of us regulars here know its wat we say here that matters rather some stupid meaningless number.

Enough has been said 2 ask GOG 2 improve on this by either removing rep or some other ways but it has fallen on deaf ears so it's best that we all just ignore rep.

I agree with this. I'd like to add that the big issue here is the fact that people are constantly downvoted even when they're fully staying on topic. These trolls downvote everyone for saying anything and everything that isn't a notification of a giveaway. As I said, these trolls need to go find a list of giveaways somewhere on the internet other than a discussion forum. Downrepping people for discussing the topic of the thread on a discussion forum is a textbook violation of the TOS rule against abusing the rep system. It's petty, ignorant, immature, and the offending parties need to be held accountable for their blatant TOS violations. I see new people discuss the topic at hand, notice they're downrepped for it, ask what's up with that and leave. If GOG continues to refuse to enforce their own TOS, this will continue until the toxic trolls drive everyone away.

And of course the toxic trolls respond to being called out for their TOS violations by further violating the TOS, and of course GOG, yet again, refuses to enforce the TOS rule they created. If you think telling toxic trolls to stop violating the TOS in an effort to drive everyone away is pointless, that means you approve of their behavior. Most of us are sick and tired of being downrepped by TOS violators for discussing the topic at hand in this discussion forum. They need to stop, or be stopped by GOG staff.
