[This is a sticky post, it will be visible in every single page of this thread. It has been published in October 2020.]

Our moderation team decided not to take a side in the discussion since this giveaway thread was created by the community and, as long as there are no forum rules violated, is up to you, dear Gogers, to decide its fate. We will not set giveaway rules, edit the OP's post, nor lock the whole thread.

However, to make it easier for newcomers to understand the situation (about the OP being inactive and other), I will stick my own post right above the first one.

You are, of course, free to create new threads to start anew and make your own, clear rules. At the same time, please stay reasonable when crating them, as multiple new duplicates might make it even more confusing for many Gogers.

That being said, here you can find a post with dxenija's community poll to have better understanding of the situation: CLICK.

At the time of writing, open giveaway threads are:
- Massive Giveaways Blog (this one)
- Free (temporary) keys giveaway central topic.
- Updated Itch.io giveaways

Be nice to each other *flies away*

Slimedom: Homeward-bound

Guide two lovey-dovey slimes back home either solo or cooperatively using one keyboard!

Manage the couple's health, hunger, and thirst while traversing the rather abrupt landscape. Stomp enemies to turn them into tasty meats and dip into a pool of water to rehydrate.

Avoid the lava! If one of the slime meets their demise, do not fret! The other slime can offer half of their remaining life to give to their soulmate.

Two endings, one being a secret. The small mushrooms are the key...

greeklover: Edit : Shadowrun Returns Deluxe isn't available on gog anyway.

Shadowrun Returns just connected :) they could have put the deluxe version since everybody got it from the humblebundle giveaway but that's cool too

bigboss-62: May be we can contact GOG support to know if it can be possible to redeem (with proof) if DLX version is owned on Steam (after all, DLX version contains "base" game and just add anthology + soundtrack)

That would be the opposite case ("base" game on Steam and "DLX" on GOG), i would understand and accept that redeem should be denied...

Edit:
It seems that my will has been heard... A few time after my post, ShadowRun Returns have been detected on GOG Connect (previously owned DLX version on steam)...
Where is there a Deluxe DLC? GOG only has the other extensions. Base game does still come with downloads though.

I guess you misunderstood what bigboss wanted to say. It seems as if for those who own the Deluxe Edition only on Steam the game has not been detected on GOG connect at all. However this works now so everybody who owns the game on Steam (Deluxe or base game) can get at least the base game on GOG for free.

No, I don't believe I misunderstood him, since it was in his original question:

"May be we can contact GOG support to know if it can be possible to redeem (with proof) if DLX version is owned on Steam (after all, DLX version contains "base" game and just add anthology + soundtrack) "

GOG doesn't seem to have the Deluxe (DLX for short), but it has the other DLCs in addition to the base game. The only thing I can tell about the differences with GOG and Steam's version of the base game, is that the Steam version doesn't seem to come with some unique extra content supplied with it (as is the case with most Steam games anyway). - the stuff that is NOT actually the Deluxe DLC. It's just a little more special from what I can tell.

The Steam key that was given for the Deluxe version was called "Shadowrun Returns Deluxe", although it was actually just the base game + the Deluxe DLC. It's "deluxe" in name only (technically, this is the name of the bundle, but that is what that actually is). So in this case, despite the fact that GOG recognizes that you do "own" the base game, it doesn't seem to count the Deluxe DLC which is also owned in addition with that, hence my question. If the DLC is missing from GOG, this explains why you actually only get the GOG version of the base game, but you won't also add the Deluxe version, which is what you really have on Steam. But if it does happen to be there, I don't have the explanation of why it's not added after all, which prompted his original question, because there is no actual "Shadowrun Returns Deluxe" as if it's the entire base game, or a different version of SRR.

For me personally, I did not get the Deluxe DLC added, even though somehow it was able to add the base game, despite the fact I've uninstalled the game a while ago. Hence my question, the DLC doesn't seem to exist if this is the answer, but his post perplexed me more.

EDIT: Also, look at greeklover's posting for the context of bigboss's comment.

This is a full game, not a trial, nor a demo. Once you download it you get to keep it forever. Developer decided not to charge for the game. No need to get triggered. It does not have micro-transactions either.

Do you know the meaning of "giveaway" ?

So what makes it different from the thousands upon thousands of other free games?
This should be about games which are normally paid but which can be obtained (and kept for good) for free for a limited time.

The difference is - it is a full version indie title. No registration required whatsoever. No paid DLCs. No microtransactions. It is not a trial, it is not a demo. It is massively given away for free. :-) If I did not write "free to play" you wouldn't even know that, thus this discussion would not have happened, since it is pointless. :-)

How many of these would that apply to as well?
