Timboli: [...]
Being sold for 1 day, it vent stright into the top selling list on Steam (even thouhg it has no discount). Steam has it higlighted in the banner (which it only does for certain games). In 24 hours of sales, it has now a "Overwhelming Positive" rating based on 5.5k reviews. As fas as iknow, that is much better stats then Quake Enchanced had.

I do not blame gOg for not having this game, as the developers never offered it for sale here, but this is actually a big thing, even though you have not heard about it before.
Deleted.

David9855: Fanboy denial. Look this game would of been a perfect fit for GOG
That you need to tell the devs.
Most indie developers ignore GOG completely, only have Steam and itch.io in mind.

Why don't you write them a nice email about how massively they failed?

Not my job, not getting paid, GOGs a polish company fronted in Cyprus and has many paid employees. I've grabbed my DRM free copy on Itch.io I'm just pointing out there failures so they might DO something about it.

So your job is to complain about how badly others do their job.
Well, that's one way to make a living.

Who said anything about me making money out of it. Gog should be thanking me for the feedback along with it's shareholders, it's not my fault your rabid fanboyism gets offend.
Well, you refuse to do something, because it's not your job. Conclusion: Since you do this here, this is your job.

Now for somethiung constructive: Use the community wishlist. That's what it's there for.
https://www.gog.com/wishlist/games/dwarf_fortress
It already has over 2000 votes, that's not bad.

The devs still might refuse to release on GOG however, no matter what the GOG staff does
(comment also posted in the DF wishlist comments)

publisher Kitfox Games has contact info here, if you want to directly request a GOG release. of course, please be respectful and don't spam.

https://www.kitfoxgames.com/en/contact

I think it will show up in the not-terribly-far future (perhaps sometime in 2023), but I also think it helps if lots of people request a GOG release and of course vote on the wishlist.

Very true. There's only so much GOG can do to convince devs and pubs to release here.

But since this isn't a AAA title, I think it has a decent shot.

You would be surprised how low the interest of indie developers in GOG is.

Also kickstarter devs either really don't want to release here or answer my requests about GOG with something like "I haven't thought about that." Only very few mention GOG releases from the beginning. It's always Steam and for DRM free releases it's itch.io, once I even got a google drive link to download a game ...

Letting the staff decide what makes it to the store and what not protects from a lot of junk, but it also lowers the interest for the site in the first place.

Kingdom Under Fire: A War of Heroes was released on steam for free. Someone asked if they will released on GOG but they have no plans.

Edit: They even released the game with Steam DRM. So you have to use workaround to play it without steam. It's odd some people on these forums are happy to support steam over GOG.. :( Game this old should be DRM free on steam or any platform. It's also a bad release of the game.
